Director Even Benestad worked on the project for over a year before he even contacted the lead character Fred Robsahm. Benestad liked the project so much and was afraid that Robsahm would decline when he asked him to do the film. When he finally called, Robsahm was baffled by the fact that the director knew more about his film career than the old actor himself.
