Storyline

Vice City, 1984. Opportunity abounds in a city emerging from the swamps, it's growth fuelled by the violent power struggle in a lucrative drugs trade. Construction is everywhere as a shining metropolis rises from foundations of crime and betrayal. As a soldier, Vic Vance has always protected his dysfunctional family, his country, himself. One bad decision later and that job is about to get much harder. Kicked out onto the streets of a city torn between glamour and gluttany, Vic is faced with a stark choice - build an empire or be crushed. Written by Davi Silva

Trivia

VCN Building Easter Egg - Hidden in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (2002) was a literal easter egg - a chocolate easter egg that said "Happy Easter" on it. This easter egg is back, but since this game takes place two years before Vice City, it isn't quite finished being built yet. Go to the western end of the Downtown bridge that goes over to Prawn Island and enter the VCN building. Go up to the roof and from here, go up the ramps to the helipad. On the northwest corner of the helipad is a small rectangular window that belongs to the building next door. Do a running jump into this window to find the easter egg, complete with construction crane. Also in here is #11 of the happy face easter egg signs. It should be noted that this easter egg and happy face sign do not exist in the PlayStation Portable version. FYI: This easter egg is what the hidden sign inside the boat was referring to. Goofs

VCPD officers carry a Beretta 92 handgun as their sidearm, which is strange because the Beretta 92 was only issued to U.S Armed Forces in the 1980s (Marines, Air Force, Army). It would make more sense if this gun was only carried by the soldiers at Fort Baxter not the police. See more »

not at good as San Andreas but still good
12 July 2008 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

I got two GTAs-GTA San Andreas on ps2 and this on psp and I have to say this is quite a good game. I mean the car stealing isn't as aggressive as in San Andreas and in San Andreas you can scale walls, you can't in this one but it still good. One thing I have noticed is some of the missions are similar to San Andreas for instance the mission 'Jive Drive' is just like the San Andreas mission 'Just Business' and in this the las mission 'Last Stand' is like the first half of the last mission in San Andreas 'End of the Line'. It is quite funny, I think this is more funny than San Andreas. This game is quite good so to any GTA fans buy Vice City Stories. (Oh by the way Vice means corruption so really they should call in Corruption City)
