Storyline

Vice City, 1984. Opportunity abounds in a city emerging from the swamps, it's growth fuelled by the violent power struggle in a lucrative drugs trade. Construction is everywhere as a shining metropolis rises from foundations of crime and betrayal. As a soldier, Vic Vance has always protected his dysfunctional family, his country, himself. One bad decision later and that job is about to get much harder. Kicked out onto the streets of a city torn between glamour and gluttany, Vic is faced with a stark choice - build an empire or be crushed. Written by Davi Silva

Trivia

Is the first game in the GTA series to feature a real-life person in cutscenes: Singer/drummer Phil Collins. Is also the first game in the GTA series to feature a GTA radio DJ in cutscenes: The transsexual filmmaker-turned-pornstar-turned-DJ, Reni Wassulmaier (voiced by Barbara Rosenblat), who previously featured on Flashback FM in Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (2005) (VG). Goofs

VCPD officers carry a Beretta 92 handgun as their sidearm, which is strange because the Beretta 92 was only issued to U.S Armed Forces in the 1980s (Marines, Air Force, Army). It would make more sense if this gun was only carried by the soldiers at Fort Baxter not the police. See more »

empire building
29 December 2006 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

the one thing that really struck me about this game was the attention to detail to fussiness for example with the empire building which basically has you attacking a fussiness similar to the gang wars engine on san andreas then once it has been wiped out of any remaining gang members you are able to buy it. then you are able to choose what fussiness type you want from protection, loan shark, prostitution, drugs, smuggling and robbery then you choose if you want it to be a small fussiness medium or large. this is a great add on to the game and i hope is used for future games overall i would give this game an eight out of 10
