As the deadline for the punch-up approaches, Eddie tries to get into shape by going to the local gym. Bill and his friends have had the same idea, alas. Eddie's gang consists of a tall, weedy man ( David Armour ) in a flat cap who looks vaguely like Eli Woods, a nerdy bloke in glasses ( Tony Aitken ), and Arthur and Jacko! To frighten their foes, Bill and co. do a 'Zulu' style war dance in the pub car park. It has the desired effect - the others flee, leaving Eddie on his own.
Eddie tries to get out of the fight by pretending he has a broken arm, but forgets which arm is supposed to be broken. As Eddie's mob gather in the street, Bill and his friends can be seen in the distance, looking intimidating. Who will come out on top?
The presence of Arthur and Jacko in Eddie's gang is curious seeing they were on good terms with Bill and Barbie at the start of the previous episode. Ah well, this is a sitcom, best not to think about it too much. It shows how much of a buffoon Eddie is that he can challenge someone to a fight without being cut out for it. Tony Aitken was one of the cast of the hilarious L.W.T. sketch show 'End Of Part One' in 1978-80.
Funniest moment - Bill's mob unexpectedly vanishes from the street. Thinking he has scared them off, Eddie emerges from hiding. As he and his friends walk away, laughing, guess who suddenly appears from behind a wall?
