The Doctor goes outside of the spaceship while it is in flight, presumably travelling at very high speeds if it is on its way to the Ogron home world. When he is shaken loose from the hull by the Master making a course change, the Doctor wasn't attached to the hull by a cable or any other means. Therefore the ship would have continued it's flight as he was left drifting in space.
The Doctor uses his air supply tube as a thruster to propel himself back to the outer hull of the spaceship after being shaken loose. However, the tube is already venting air quite visibly before he moves it into the correct position to thrust himself back towards the ship. He therefore should have been sent flying off in all directions.
Cables are visible from The Doctor's spacesuit as he climbs the side of the space ship and moves over the top of it to the hatch.
Inside the ship, a hand withdraws out of sight after The Doctor opens the hatch from outside.
