What time is it? It's time to discuss "Bet on It," that's what time it is. Believe it or not, 10 years ago today, High School Musical 2 premiered on the Disney Channel. The sequel drew a record amount of viewers—17.6 million to be exact. Fans watched as the kids from East High School summered at Lava Springs, working as lifeguards (Vanessa Hudgens' Garbriella Montez), activity coordinators (Monique Coleman's Taylor McKessie) and more. As for Troy Bolton (Zac Efron)? He swiftly got promoted from caddy to children's golf teacher, thanks to some clever manipulation on behalf of drama queen Sharpay Evans (Ashley Tisdale). Troy's dramatic solo number, "Bet on It," took six days »

21 May 2017 7:26 PM, PDT | Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news »

Miley Cyrus and Vanessa Hudgens had a little Disney Channel reunion at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday. During a commercial break, Vanessa took a break from her hosting duties to catch up with her former costar, giving us a heavy dose of nostalgia. While the "Malibu" singer is well-known for her TV series Hannah Montana, she also made a quick cameo in Vanessa's equally popular movie franchise in High School Musical 2 back in the day. Now that Miley is making new music, it sounds like the perfect time for the two to do a collaboration. »

You Don't Have to Watch the Disney Channel to Obsess Over This Descendants 2 Song

1 May 2017 11:15 AM, PDT | POPSUGAR | See recent BuzzSugar news »

The first track for Disney Channel's highly anticipated sequel, Descendants 2, is here, and it's making us super nostalgic. Not only does the track, "Ways to Be Wicked," reunite us with the offspring of Disney's classic villains, but it's also strangely reminiscent of another original movie, High School Musical 2. Doing the wave in the hallway? Check. Using classroom paper as confetti? Check. Dancing in front the school? Check. Infectious tune that you won't be able to get out of your head? Double check. Of course, the similarities shouldn't come as too much of a shock though. The movies were both created by famous director and choreographer Kenny Ortega. You can catch all the action when Descendants 2 premieres this Summer. »

Ashley Tisdale is shutting down pregnancy rumors and body shamers alike in one very eloquent tweet.

The actress, 31, shared a response to speculation about her weight on Twitter on Monday after making a public appearance at the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Oscars viewing party and fundraiser the night before.

“The pressure to perfect is a struggle,” she wrote. “No I’m not pregnant, I’m just happy and haven’t been strict on my diet, but thanks for the reminder.”

Tisdale has previously spoken about body confidence, and says staying active helps her to feel great.

The best musical numbers in 21st century films

Catherine Pearson Jan 23, 2017

From School Of Rock and Enchanted through to Hail Caesar and Moana, we look at the unmissable musical numbers from modern movies...

The world has gone gaga for La La Land and it’s not difficult to see why. We love a good musical number. Sometimes there’s nothing more uplifting than a catchy tune with some fun choreography and other times music is the best, if only, way to depict a character's despair, fear or hope. Music taps into something very primal in us all and can often extract laughter and tears easier than two hours’ worth of dialogue.

Numerous classic musicals have graced the big screen since cinema began, but the 21st century alone has seen some fantastic songs in film. Some considered ‘musical films’ and others ‘films with music’, here are my top picks for this century’s best on-screen musical sequences.
