Big brother is watching you .... and he is a crab!
21 August 2014 | by (South Wales, UK) – See all my reviews

Review for all 4 parts:

This 4 part story is much stronger in episodes 2 and 3 when ideas of a 'big brother is watching you' type society and political underlying themes bring the story to a peak. The Macra creatures, often referred to as 'giant crabs' due to their claws and crustacean like forms are quite an unusual and interesting idea too.

Parts 1 and 4 are not up to the standard of the middle episodes and have more cheesy moments such as the opening of episode 1 with the ultra cheesy musical number which I found very irritating. To be fair I think it was meant to be as it represents the unthinking, unquestioning happiness of brainwashed people. These parts are still decent but just not as well executed or as full of the good ideas.

Overall a very good if not an exceptional adventure.
