The Sensorites: Part 4 - Good but not great
5 July 2014 | by (South Wales, UK) – See all my reviews

Review for all 6 parts:

This story is good and has moments of brilliance but overall it has too many flaws and less interesting parts to be top standard classic Who.

The Doctor, Ian and Barbara are up to their usual well written standard and the story has very interesting aspects. The alien race The Sensorites (relatives of the Ood from the 21st Century series of 'Doctor Who') are interesting as they at first seem very menacing but turn out to have a few members of real menace but many gentle and friendly members. They are pretty well realised aliens somewhat more three dimensional than your usual TV or movie alien race.

The adventure involves tension, trust issues and devious schemes and maintains interest well overall though it sometimes loses momentum. It is very good in many ways but has some flaws in execution at times. A good adventure but not among the very best.
