Parents Guide for
The Ferryman (2007) More at IMDbPro »

The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

There is a brief, violent sex scene; the woman's breasts are fondled through her bra and cunnilingus is implied (under a blanket), but there is no nudity.

A woman in a short slip sits on a dressing table and touches herself between her legs; again, no nudity.

Two women kiss, but it's part of a scheme rather than a sex scene.

A woman removes her dress, exposing her panties and (briefly) bare breasts.

Violence & Gore

Several characters are stabbed, others are shot, one is hit with a bottle and the broken glass used to gash his throat, another is set alight.

One sex scene borders on rape.

There is an attempted strangulation.

A dog is butchered.

Profanity

Increasingly strong swearing as the violence intensifies.

The characters are on a pleasure trip, so there are several scenes involving alcohol. An actor is shown drinking from a 70cl bottle.

One character is sedated.

This is a supernatural thriller in which violent murder is a key element of the plot. It also takes place within the claustrophobic confines of a pleasure yacht.

Blood is shown on the deck, and in one case smeared across both a wall and a bedspread.
