I saw this one last night at the Show Me Missouri International Film Festival. As my 17 year old said, "I liked where it was going, but it didn't really get there." It felt like it needed a little more time to develop the emotional tone and the storyline. (Maybe a little more budget.) Even if it was an independent short film. When you finally get to "the dancing ground" it confuses you with new information about the sheriff and his father's relationship and then ends somewhat abruptly. I could have used more of the story at the point where they broach this aspect of the relationship. While the story of the sheriff and his son makes sense throughout and is satisfying to watch not so the other storyline. All in all I didn't dislike it, in fact I wanted to hear more.
