I'll be honest, I don't like anime. Of all the titles in the genre I probably like only about three or four. To me they all seem the same. By no means is Girls Bravo ground breaking or a genre changer, but its well made and doesn't take itself seriously, allowing slapstick comedy to take hold.
The story is pretty much about this kid named Yukinari who is bulled by girls so much he becomes allergic to all females. Until one day he is transported to another planet known as Seiren via bathtub(I'm pretty sure drugs were involved when writing this). This is where he meets a pink haired Miharu. A girl who he (for some reason)can have contact with and avoid getting his "girl rash". This is really just a background for the series and in the end gives way to situational comedy.
You also get a lot of other characters with the package to. Thiers Kirie who sends most of the time assaulting other characters. Kazuharu who hits on almost everyone on screen and only matched in sexual deviancy by Zapp Brannigan of Futurama. His sister Lisa who can do witchcraft and wants in Yukinari's pants. Koyomi who is afraid of men and good at ping-pong(makes sense I guess). And Tomoka a little girl that, like Lisa can cast magic. There are a few side characters that are simi-interesting as well. While they may not be the nicest group they do show compassion towards each other and are likable for the most part. And as a added plus for you prevs, you get to see them all naked at some point.
The show seems like it was made for anybody. The mello drama(that gets down right sad at moments) seems like it was made for girls. But thats thrown off when you notice almost every female character has huge breast and gets naked in every episode. Characters can also take a lot of damage, they'll get kneed in the face, punched, kicked and even hit by trucks and be okay the next second. So fans of old school cartoons can find a home here ,I guess.
The humor was a high point. Being a skrewball comedy with no rules or logic, you never knew what was going to happen next. You'll have clones of Miharu eating everything in sight, a hot bath ghost and even a switching bodies episode. I did however fear a porn scene to pop up but it never did(it came close a few times) but its not all bad.
By the last episode most should be happy with the result. The animation and sound is good. Dubbing is descent. Though you fell more seasons could have been done, especially considering a lot of unused core material being left over. In the end you'll find you actually cared for most of the characters and kinda sad its over. If your a fan of anime or a stoner that has nothing better to watch while on a trip go on ahead and give it a try, just don't watch with your girlfriends.
