Storyline

Every year the Gilbert family looks forward to the annual Gilbert Cup competition. Everyone, that is, except Dil, the youngest Gilbert sibling. He's never won the cup, not once. Dil's girlfriend, super-motivated and ultra-competitive Katherine, is determined to change Dil's luck, but can she change a 25-year losing streak? It won't be easy. The competition is beyond fierce, and if there's such a thing as obsessive competitive disorder, Dil's overachieving siblings Gil and Lil are certifiable. The Gilbert's go the distance in events that test their intelligence, agility, and sanity. The winning Gilbert gets the cup and the glory. Who will be the last Gilbert standing? Does Dil stand a chance? Let the games begin... Written by Alex

Goofs

Firstborn son Gil was said to have been born right after the Carter-Reagan election (1980), making him 26 at most (assuming the movie takes place in 2006). However, the Gilbert Cup, a competition between the three siblings, is in its 25th year, and Will makes a reference to Gil being born "over thirty years ago". See more »

Really cute family flick
4 September 2006 | by (Colorado) – See all my reviews

I enjoyed watching this ABC Family special, and all I can say is cute, cute, cute. Two things that came to my mind while watching the movie- 1) Good for Terry Bradshaw...life after football ain't so bad; and 2) Christopher Gorham is a hottie! I thought he was cute in 'Popular', but he's turned out better than I would have expected plus he's a good actor to boot. Hopefully he can get into a show that lasts longer than one season. I think he could be a mega star if he played his cards right.

This must have been so fun to film! I liked all the actors and they seemed to mesh really well together. The ending was predictable but that's not a bad thing. It is definitely worth watching with your family as it is a lighthearted, fun movie.
