Earlier this year it was rumored that a sequel to 2010's Tron: Legacy hinged on the performance of Disney Xd's Tron: Uprising. It looks like Disney was pleased with the response to the animated prequel series which boasts visuals just as rich as its live-action counterpart. THR reports that Disney is moving forward on the untitled Tron: Legacy sequel and is currently looking to hire Eragon scribe Jesse Wigutow to pen the next draft of the script. Traveler series writer David Digilio drafted the latest script. Disney must be pleased with Wigutow's work on their forthcoming projects, Peter and the Starcatchers; and Parallel.
I'm sure there wasn't much nail biting going on from director Joseph Kosinski and Legacy screenwriters Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz as they've been quietly developing the third installment of Tron while juggling other projects this past year -- with Kosinski shooting Oblivion and Kitsis and Horowitz »

Grey’s Anatomy is adding a bit of Rex appeal — as in Rex Van De Kamp — with the casting of Desperate Housewives alum Steven Culp in a recurring role.
As reported by our sister site Deadline, Culp will recur during Season 9 of the ABC drama in the role of Dr. Parker, a top surgeon. It is not clear if Parker practices at Seattle Grace or elsewhere, given that some of the residents’ fates were in play at the close of last season.

London - I'm not going to lie to you: I see Logan Marshall-Green and I instantly start humming "Hide and Seek." But Marshall-Green is more than just Ryan Atwood's ill-fated brother Trey from "The O.C." (and a regular on ABC's "Traveler" and TNT's "Dark Blue"). In roundtable interviews before last week's London premiere of "Prometheus," the 35-year-old actor discussed his excitement for the project as a sci-fi fanboy and also talked up his fanboy credentials for fantasy and for theater. And before we sat down to talk about "Prometheus" and this big opportunity to work with Ridley Scott, we discussed »

CBS Television Studios has renewed its deal with producer Dan Jinks and his Dan Jinks Co. for a second year. The extension comes on the heels of a successful first year for Jinks as a solo TV producer at CBS Studios. He executive produced Jennie Snyder Urman’s CW medical drama pilot Emily Owens, MD starring Mamie Gummer, which was picked up to series for fall. “I couldn’t be happier working with David Stapf and his incredible team at CBS Television Studios,” Jinks said. Jinks segued to the deal with CBS Studios last summer after being partnered with Bruce Cohen for 13 years, the last six based at Warner Bros. TV. Emily Owens, MD marks Jinks’ fourth consecutive pilot to go to series, following three he produced with Cohen, ABC’s Pushing Daisies and Traveler and Lifetime’s Side Order of Life. In what sounds like a cross between Scrubs and Grey’s Anatomy, The CW has ordered First Cut, an hour-long dramedy pilot from former Gilmore Girls co-producer Jennie Snyder Urman that centers on a young female doctor.
Here’s the official logline: Glad to leave her nerdy past behind for a fresh start in the adult professional world, a newly minted doctor discovers that, sadly and comically, life at the hospital where she works is no different than high school.
Urman — whose credits also include 90210 and Men in Trees — penned the script and serves as an exec producer along with Dan Jinks (Pushing Daisies, »
