The cast of Thor: Ragnarok is coming together, as Marvel confirms Karl Urban, Cate Blanchett and Jeff Goldblum...

Latest News

Captain America: Civil War has passed the magical $1bn mark at the global box-office, and given that it's nominally a solo outing (albeit with a huge extended cast clashing for the title battle), it's fair to say that Thor's next film has a tough act to follow.

Perhaps realising this, Marvel has announced a bunch of new cast members for Thor: Ragnarok; joining a returning Chris Hemsworth as the hammer-swinging hero, we'll have Cate Blanchett as a new villain named Hela, Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Karl Urban as Skurge.

It's also been confirmed that Mark Ruffalo will reappear as Bruce Banner and the Hulk - marking his first showing since Avengers: Age Of Ultron. Oh, and there's the small bit »

Paris — The Cannes Film Festival will host a tribute to Prince, the music legend who died Thursday, a festival spokesperson confirmed to Variety.

Details on the homage will be unveiled by the festival in the coming days, said the rep.

Prince, a pop culture icon whose legacy spans nearly every field of entertainment, contributed to a number of movie and TV shows soundtracks, notably Tim Burton’s “Batman,” Spike Lee’s “Girl 6” and even “Happy Feet.”

Like David Bowie, who died in January, Prince was revered in France. His death has provoked much sadness and shock expressed all over social media, TV and print outlets. His film “Under the Cherry Moon” was filmed on the French Riviera at La Victorine Studios in Nice.

On its Twitter account, French music artist Christine and the Queens wrote “Purple everything. No rules. Bodies owned, brilliantly free. New sounds, new ways to love. »

Zoom's Identity Revealed in 'The Flash'

24 February 2016 3:11 AM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Season 2 of The Flash has its biggest reveal with the ferocious villain Zoom finally unmasked. That bombshell drops in the last minute of this week's complex and thoughtful episode - King Shark. Fandom had a fairly good idea of who to expect with the recent avalanche of clues. But beyond the identity of Zoom, the emotional toll of their losses against him finally hits a critical mass. The Flash has always had solid dramatic performances from the leads, but King Shark marks a huge leap in character development. Barry (Grant Gustin) has paid a staggering price for his timeline altering decisions as The Flash. Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) is through being a wounded girlfriend, adapting the icy disposition of her alternate universe doppelganger - Killer Frost. Another surprise is a crossover appearance from Arrow's Diggle (David Ramsey) and Lyla Michaels (Audrey Marie Anderson). All setting up the season's third »

‘The Flash’ Boss on Shocking Zoom Reveal: ‘He Played Them All’

23 February 2016 6:02 PM, PST | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Spoiler warning: Do not read on unless you’ve seen “The Flash” Season 2, Episode 15, titled “King Shark.”

Fans have been speculating about the identity of “The Flash’s” villainous Zoom since Season 2 began, but the truth proved to be even more shocking than we could’ve predicted: the man we’ve come to know as Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears) — beloved by comic book fans as the first iteration of The Flash in the Golden Age of comics — was revealed to be Zoom, aka Hunter Zolomon… Seconds after dumping the body of the man who appeared to be Jay Garrick on the ground back on Earth-2. But how? For that reveal, we’ll sadly have to wait until after “The Flash” returns from its mini-hiatus on March 22.

Our suspicions were raised after Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) attempted to track down Jay’s Earth-1 counterpart in the Jan. 26 episode “The Reverse-Flash Returns” (a »

'The Flash' Concept Art Shows Jay Garrick, Firestorm and Geomancer

21 February 2016 1:24 PM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

During the last two episodes of The CW's The Flash, fans were introduced to a new character played by Adam Stafford, Adam Fells, a.k.a. Geomancer. Over the weekend, concept artist Andy Poon released an early design for this villainous character on his Instagram page, along with designs for Doctor Light (Malese Jow) and Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears). Here's what the artist had to say about his Geomancer design, which was created before Adam Stafford was cast.

"Geomancer concept I did for The Flash, with costume designer Maya Mani. I finished this one before the actor was cast so I based my concept on Jensen Ackles of Supernatural. Thought would give it a shot since he's already shooting supernatural in Vancouver and seems like @amelladventures is buddies with the Winchester brothers already. I tired! Maybe next time. Have a good weekend!"

King Shark Returns and Zoom Unmasked in 'The Flash' Season 2 Trailer

12 February 2016 10:32 AM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

When The Flash producers announced that Zoom would be the main villain for Season 2, they also teased that his actual identity will be kept hidden throughout the season. While Tony Todd came on to provide the voice of this nefarious nemesis, most weren't expecting this character to be unmasked until the season finale. Today, The CW released a new trailer, which teases that we may in fact find out who is underneath the Zoom suit in next week's episode, Escape From Earth-2.

Of course, we don't see who's underneath the mask in this trailer, but Zoom certainly seems ready to reveal himself at the end of this latest sneak peek. The episode, which airs on Tuesday, February 16, centers on Barry Allen and his team scouring through Earth-2 to find Zoom's lair, as they ask for help from the most unexpected source. Back on Earth-1, Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) rushes to perfect »

'Arrow' Season 4 Posters: Vote Oliver Queen for Mayor

13 January 2016 5:14 PM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

One week from today, Arrow returns with its first episode of 2016, Blood Debts. When we last saw Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), he was in the midst of running for Mayor of Star City, a story thread that will surely pick up steam in the back half of Season 4. Earlier today, executive producer Marc Guggenheim took to his Twitter account to reveal two campaign posters for Olly's mayoral run. The posters also feature the website OliverQueenForMayor.com, which isn't actually active, but it may be soon when the show returns.

Blood Debts follows Oliver as he must deal with the devastating consequences of Damien Darhk's (guest star Neal McDonough) last attack. Seeking revenge, Oliver goes on a brutal manhunt looking for Dahrk. It isn't quite clear if Oliver's mayoral campaign will be addressed in this episode, but given the arrival of these new posters, it's probably a safe bet that his »
