Tom Hardy talks Suicide Squad, and reveals why he left the project

1 hour ago | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Back in December when we got the first casting news for Suicide Squad, it was announced that Tom Hardy would be set for a return to the DC universe, swapping The Dark Knight Rises‘ Bane for Rick Flagg, leader of Task Force X. However, barely a month later Hardy exited the film, with rumours suggesting that he was unhappy with the script and the direction of his character. Well, it turns out those rumours were fiction, as the actor has revealed to Collider that scheduling issues with Alejandro G. Inarritu’s The Revenant forced him to drop out, and that he’s disappointed not to be part of the DC supervillain ensemble.

Suicide Squad: Ranking All 11 Characters Revealed So Far

4 hours ago | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

Warner Bros.

With more than a year until David Ayer’s supervillain team-up movie hits cinemas (and with leaks sprouting all over the place) the Fury director has bucked the trend of his DC directing stable-mates by showing what’s under the skirt of his movie pretty early. So far, he’s been drip-feeding, but with increasingly annoyed reactions to some of his characters leaking, he dropped an almighty amount of information in one go, revealing nine as yet unseen (mostly characters).

There are still holes to fill in: Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller is still under wraps, there’s no sign of whoever Common is playing and both Ike Barinholtz’s Hugo Strange and Raymond Olubawale’s King Shark are yet to rear their heads. In the case of the latter, that’s probably because he’s going to be mostly CGI, of course. Unless they have some seriously talented animal trainers. »

David Ayer reveals Jared Leto’s Joker from Suicide Squad

25 April 2015 12:15 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Director David Ayer has released the first image of Jared Leto’s Joker from the third film in the DC Cinematic Universe, Suicide Squad. It’s a definite departure from Heath Ledger’s Oscar-winning portrayal of the character…

First impressions are often misleading, as many fans were shocked by the early behind-the-scenes photos of Ledger. No doubt these very strong choices by Ayer will lead to some polarizing reactions from fans.

I’m guessing this might break the internet in half.

What do you think about the new Joker?

Yep, that's pretty much exactly what we thought Jared Leto as Joker would be

24 April 2015 5:50 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

In what is sure to generate a ton of conversation, David Ayer has released a photo of the full Joker look for "Suicide Squad" via Twitter, and it's certainly striking. Jared Leto is playing the character this time, and they've been teasing fans now for almost a full month with hints and glimpses. There was a paparazzi photo earlier this week of Leto on-set, showing someone a photo on his phone, and it looked like a finished Joker image. Ultimately, there's not much mystery to the basics of how he's going to appear in the film. Green hair. Pale skin. Big smile. The things I'm curious about involve just how extreme they're going to make him, especially considering this sounds like a DC world where characters like King Shark and Solomon Grundy are running around. What's clear is that this is a more real-world take on the Joker, more of »

New rumours suggest Red Hood will be a part of Suicide Squad

8 April 2015 12:22 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Just like its Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice counterpart, the cast of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad seems to be constantly growing. We’ve had reports so far that have included Onslaught and Antiphon as the main villains with Deathstoke as their hired gun, as well as Hugo Strange and Plastique rumoured to have roles in the film. Not only that, but it’s been confirmed that Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has joined the cast as Killer Croc and now we have a new rumour to add to the list.

According to Latino-Review (who seem to have quite the hold on this movie based on their obscene amount of rumours), Red Hood is set to also have a part not just Suicide Squad, but also the rest of the DC Cinematic Universe. The site claim he is now a priority character for DC.

Nothing confirmed for now, so just a rumour for the time being. »
