It is always a good idea to define something from A to Z. It is even a
better idea to define Football (the one that is actually played with
both a foot and a ball) from A to Z. It is obviously a fantastic idea
to have Thierry Henry, Michael Ballack, Mia Hamm, Káká, Pelé, Arséne
Wenger, Pierluigi Collina and Brigit Prinz explaining the beautiful
game they play better than everyone (except Ronaldinho). The class and
humour provided by John Cleese, with several references to the Monty
Python legacy, works as intermission between the statements and the
precious footage of amazing moments of the Football history. All in
all, a pretty good documentary about the past, present and future of
this sport that moves hordes of people around the World. By the way, no
matter how much I admire Henry, he cheated on the semi-final against
Portugal :P Ginete
The art of football, is besides the movie "Goal" the best movie about
football, ever made. It is a good 110 minutes of entertaining from A to
Z.
It features Monthy Phytons, John Cleese and his sidekick, talking about
every possible aspect about football, there is. All from why American
Football, is'not considered as football by the true pundits, to the
origins of xenophobia in the sport.
The good thing about this movie, in my opinion, is that it lets Mr
Cleese put in his Phytonesque humor, and balance with good clean
learning about "the beautiful game". It has aired in all of Europe, and
it is a TV-film, you have to see. Forget the B-movie label, this is
definitively an A-Film!
