Festival Winner and much more...
12 June 2006 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I have seen this film, Riverside, at several film festivals in the US and can recommend it highly. Its many merits include phenomenal camera work by cinematographer Henry Smith and extremely good acting by Joanna Foster Wilson, Mary Cates and the whole cast. I think, if there is one weak area of this work, it is certain parts of the script, which lack clarity and force...although other parts are quite well written. The directing, editing and powerful special effects add a lot to the success of this film, which, to my knowledge has won awards at several film festivals, including Best Film at The 2006 Progeny Motion Picture Show and Third Place at the 2006 Macon Film & Video Festival.

Looking on this film's website, I see that as of this writing (6/06), Riverside has screened at over 20 film festivals in the US, Canada and Africa, including The 2005 Indie Memphis, the 2005 Golden Lion and the 2006 Bare Bones International. Not bad at all for an independent short drama.

All in all, a good, solid, short film. Catch it if you can!
