Jack and Henderson, with help from a surviving member of the submarine crew, infiltrate the submarine and secure a missile submarine seized by Bierko, killing Bierko in the process. Afterward Henderson attempts to escape and pulls a gun on Jack, believing that Jack would not have honored his original deal to help Henderson 'disappear' in exchange for his help. Henderson pulls the trigger but the gun is empty, and Jack executes Henderson, exacting his revenge for David, Tony and Michelle. Martha and Pierce form an alliance with Mike and eventually also bring in Jack to help. Meanwhile, Logan prepares to leave for Palmer's send off, which Jack exploits to his advantage to acquire evidence against him.
In summary,here the events that happened during that hour:
1.Vladimir Bierko plans to attack the U.S. using the Natalia's missiles. Jack Bauer and Christopher Henderson get on the ship, and Jack kills Bierko and his crew, which lets Henderson cancel the launch sequence and save the U.S.
2.Christopher Henderson corners Jack and makes him admit that he was never going to let Henderson go. Henderson fires at Jack, but his gun has no ammo. Jack reminds him that he was responsible for the deaths of David Palmer, Tony Almeida, and Michelle Dessler, and shoots him dead.
3.Jack tells Chloe O'Brian back at Counter Terrorist Unit that he's going after Charles Logan. She gets Morris O'Brian, her ex-husband, to come to CTU and help her set up some modifications to help Jack.
4.Mike Novick tells Martha Logan that she has to stall Charles long enough to let Jack get on the helicopter that Charles is taking to the airport. Martha seduces Charles into staying.
5.Mike Novick asks Jack Bauer what he plans on doing without the recording. Jack plans to get Logan to make a direct confession. Mike asks how far he will go if that doesn't work.
In this penultimate episode,we get to see Jack and Henderson able to contain Bierko and put an end to his terrorism.Also,Jack puts an end to Henderson after he kills him.Then he moves on to stop President Logan.Jack does this in less than an hour.He is simply is more than Superman.Also,the web of deceit is finally addressed by the writers at the White House as former President Mike Novick gets involved in telling the First Lady - Martha Logan - to put an end to the President's evil deeds.We see how she uses sex to manipulate him.Indeed,we get see one of the best resolutions 24 has ever had.
