31 December 2010 11:34 AM, PST | Access Hollywood | See recent Access Hollywood news »

Jeremy Renner was unveiled as "The Avengers" cast member Hawkeye at Comic-Con back in July, but it looks like he'll appear on the big screen as the master bow and arrow wielder much sooner.

According to The Wrap, Hawkeye has a cameo in "Thor," the superhero film fronted by Australian hunk Chris Hemsworth, which is due out on May 6, 2011.

A source which saw an early version of "Thor," told the website that Renner's bow-wielding Hawkeye is definitely in the upcoming "Thor" film.

The source did not specify how Renner's character features into the action hero ...

Natalie Portman Denies Superman & Dark Knight Rumors

31 December 2010 | Comingsoon.net | See recent Comingsoon.net news »

While comic book fans already loved Natalie Portman in the Wachowskis' take on Alan Moore and David Lloyd's V For Vendetta and are looking forward to her playing Jane Foster in Kenneth Branagh's Thor , the critical and awards heat she's been getting for her role in Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan has put the 17-year acting vet's name on everyone's lips. Two of the many movies she's been rumored to be in line for are Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment's upcoming tentpole movies, Zack Snyder's Superman: The Man of Steel and Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises . In an interview for this week's Oscar issue of Entertainment Weekly , Portman denied the rumors about her appearing in either (or both) films. When asked about Superman, she told them: "What is »

Who Will Make a Cameo in "Thor?"

30 December 2010 3:52 PM, PST | Manny the Movie Guy | See recent Manny the Movie Guy news »

The Wrap exclusively told us that Jeremy Renner will first appear as Hawkeye in a cameo in "Thor." The actor and his Marvel character will star in Joss Whedon's "The Avenger," but we'll first catch a glimpse of him in the Kenneth Branagh-directed "Thor."

This cameo is set up at the end of the film much like Samuel L. Jackson's appearance as Nick Fury at the end of "Iron Man."

An individual, who'd already seen an early cut of "Thor," confirmed this cameo to The Wrap. And also revealed that Jackson's Fury does not appear in the film.

But the big question, is "Thor" any good? We just have until May 6 when Paramount unleashes "Thor" in theaters. "The Avengers" will arrive the following year, May 4, 2012. For now, let's watch the fantastic "Thor" trailer again. »

Stellan Skarsgard Describes 'Thor' Filming

30 December 2010 11:58 AM, PST | MTV Splash Page | See recent MTV Splash Page news »

Although "Thor" spends much of his time on Asgard, the hammer-wielding hero will remain grounded on Earth for a vast portion of the forthcoming superhero flick as well. One of the many mortals he'll encounter during his travels is Professor Andrews, played by Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgard.

"Me and Natalie Portman and Kat Dennings are doing research on strange atmospheric and space stuff going on in the sky in New Mexico," Skarsgard told Collider of his character. "And then, we meet Thor."

Skarsgard elaborated on his experiences shooting "Thor," pinning much of the film's success on director Kenneth Branagh.

"I had a great time," he said. "Kenneth Branagh is one of the funniest directors on the set. You laugh a lot. He's very skillful. We were also allowed to have rehearsals before we started, and discuss the writing and change the scenes. It felt like you were invited to a very nice collaboration. »

Spoiler: An Avenger Will Make a Cameo in Thor, But Who?

30 December 2010 8:36 AM, PST | Beyond Hollywood | See recent Beyond Hollywood news »

Well, there goes Marvel’s big easter egg for fans in their upcoming “Thor”. Obviously this post comes with a huge Spoiler Warning, so go ahead and skip it if you’d rather be surprised by what Avenger does and does not show up in “Thor” to talk smack with the guy with the really big and heavy hammer, ala what Nick Fury did with Tony Stark at the end of the first “Iron Man”, or how Thor showed up (in a manner of speaking) in the second “Iron Man”. Okay, still here? Then I assume you don’t care if the cameo gets spoiled for you. So let’s get to it… The Wrap has confirmed via a source that has seen an “early cut” of Kenneth Branagh’s “Thor” that Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye, played by Jeremy Renner, does indeed appear in a cameo in the film. Jeremy Renner In For 'Thor' Cameo, Samuel L. Jackson Out?

30 December 2010 7:43 AM, PST | MTV Splash Page | See recent MTV Splash Page news »

Jeremy Renner was outed as the front runner for Hawkeye months in advance of his finalized casting, with a report from last year suggesting that he'd play the avenging archer not just in "The Avengers," but also in "Thor."

While Renner is clearly playing Hawkeye in the superhero team-up movie, now it appears that he really does have a role to play in "Thor" as well. The Wrap reports that the "Hurt Locker" actor will mark his first performance as Clint Barton in Kenneth Branagh's "Thor" adaptation, set to arrive in theaters next May.

Supposed insiders refused to comment on the context of Hawkeye's appearance, the duration of his involvement and when in the film his scenes take place. They did state, however, that Samuel L. Jackson won't appear in "Thor" as Nick Fury.

Whether or not there's any truth to the Hawkeye cameo remains to be seen, though »

Thor to Feature Hawkeye Cameo

29 December 2010 9:06 PM, PST | WeAreMovieGeeks.com | See recent WeAreMovieGeeks.com news »

According to a report posted on thewrap.com, the May 6 release of the Kenneth Branagh directed Thor will feature a cameo  appearance by the Marvel superhero and Avengers co-member Hawkeye. Last summer at Comic Con it was announced that the 2012 Avengers film to be directed by Joss Whedon would include the master archer to be played by The Hurt Locker’s Jeremy Renner. In the articles, a source who had seen an early cut of Thor confirmed that Hawkeye is in the film, despite earlier quotes from Renner denying the character’s involvement. It’s speculated that he will introduced in a “tag” scene following the end credits as Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury was at the end of the first Iron Man film in 2008. It was confirmed that Fury will not be in Thor, while S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Coulson played by Clark Gregg will be featured.

New ‘Thor’ Cameo Revealed

29 December 2010 7:03 PM, PST | The Film Stage | See recent The Film Stage news »

With Marvel’s long in gestation The Avengers resulting in cameos from superheroes in movies that are not their own (such as Tony Stark in The Incredible Hulk or Nick Fury in Iron Man and Iron Man 2), the news that we’ll be seeing a hero not called Thor appearing in that hero’s film shouldn’t come as such a shock. More excitingly, it would be one who’ll be making their first appearance in any of these films.

That is, if this story coming from The Wrap (via BleedingCool) is to be believed. According to said sources, none other than Hawkeye, set to be portrayed by Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner, will have a role in Kenneth Branagh’s Thor. What that cameo will entail and how long he’ll be onscreen remains a mystery, however. Apparently someone who saw an early cut of the film confirmed that »

Hawkeye To Cameo In Thor

29 December 2010 5:03 PM, PST | www.themoviebit.com | See recent TheMovieBit news »

That's right. Posted mere minutes ago on The Wrap, sources have revealed to them that yes, Jeremy Renner cameo's in the upcoming Thor, as Avenger team member Hawkeye. The source, it's revealed, was in attendance for a screening of Kenneth Branagh's Thor. And while they confirmed Hawkeye's appearance, they've declined to specify how his cameo comes about. Also, it's now fact that Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury won't appear in Thor. This isn't exactly a huge bombshell, as Empire caught wind of this rumour back in 2009, but it's now confirmed (unless Branagh chops the scene, which is doubtful). So we won't have to wait until 2012 to catch our first glimpse of Renner in costume!* *Although I imagine he won't be in full get-up.

Hawkeye to Have Cameo in ‘Thor’

29 December 2010 4:48 PM, PST | LatinoReview | See recent LatinoReview news »

In the Marvel tradition, there has to be a cameo appearance after the credits. And it looks like it will be Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye. An unidentified source who has seen an early cut of “Thor” told TheWrap that Renner’s Hawkeye appears in the film, but declined any further details regarding this cameo. The same source also confirmed Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury does not appear in “Thor.” In an earlier interview with MTV, Renner believed he will not wear the Hawkeye’s classic purple costume for “The Avengers.” “I think it’s going to be a little more reality-based,” said Renner in September. “You can kind of tell with Scarlett [Johansson]’s character in [in “Iron Man 2”], it’s going to be more of a uniform…and not a big purple, comics sort of thing.” Kenneth Branagh-directed “Thor” will open in theaters on May 6, 2011. It is starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, »

Thor Cameo Revealed?

Cameos are becoming commonplace in Marvel's movies.  After Nick Fury's (Samuel L. Jackson) appearance after the credits in Iron Man and the revelation of Thor's hammer Mjolner after the credits in Iron Man 2, fans are expecting to see some kind of cameo in Kenneth Branagh's Thor.  We may now know what that cameo will be. For those who don't mind a minor spoiler, hit the jump.  Thor stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, and Anthony Hopkins.  It opens in 3D on May 6, 2011. The Wrap is reporting that Jeremy Renner will be making a cameo appearance as Hawkeye at some point in Thor.  Their source would not elaborate on when Hawkeye (real name Clint Barton) would appear in Thor or the details of that appearance. In November 2009, Empire Online speculated that Renner would appear in Thor post-credits like Jackson in Iron Man.  The Oscar-nominated actor told Empire: »

Stellan Skarsgard Exclusive Interview; Talks Thor, Melancholia, and David Fincher’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

29 December 2010 4:03 PM, PST | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgard is quite clearly one of the most prolific actors in Europe and Hollywood, with more than 80 films on his resume. He’s done big Hollywood films like Pirates of the Caribbean and Mamma Mia!, smaller productions like Good Will Hunting, and Norwegian features like his most recent, A Somewhat Gentle Man, directed by Hans Petter Moland, whom he has collaborated with twice before, and had memorable performances in all of them. Collider recently spoke to Stellan Skarsgard in an exclusive phone interview from his native Sweden to promote the limited January 14th release (at the IFC Center, and then following in L.A. and other cities) of the darkly humorous A Somewhat Gentle Man, about a gangster named Ulrik (Skarsgard) who is reluctantly released from prison, only to find his way in the world again. The Avengers Adding To The Star Studded Cast!

29 December 2010 2:57 PM, PST | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

Marvel is rumored to be adding another start to the already gigantic cast of Joss Whedon’s The Avengers.

The cast already boasts an awesome cast that includes Chris Evans (Captain America), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk),Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), and Chris Hemsworth (Thor). It has been reported by THR that there will be a new female cast member added to the male centered cast. So which female superhero will Marvel add?

Many poeple are speculating that it will be The Wasp, who was one of the founding members and often a leader of the Avengers. The Wasp is pretty bad ass, she can fly, shrink, and fire energy blasts at the bad guys. We do know for sure that both Demi Lovato and Eva Longoria will not be starring in the film.

Fandango Releases 2011 “Hot List;” Natalie Portman and Johnny Depp Among Honorees

29 December 2010 2:31 PM, PST | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

In what is apparently an annual occurrence, Fandango has released its 2011 "Hot List."  Featuring prestigious categories such as "The Sexiest Man/Woman in 2011 Movies" and "The Next Big American Movie Star," the list derives from a survey of 1000 Fandango users and is undoubtedly an honor that is revered by industry professionals and general fans alike (I think, at least). Stars such as Natalie Portman, Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz, and Blake Lively were among the big winners this year, with Depp being a unanimous choice for sexiest male actor (in the name of fairness, the results are divided into male and female respondent polls).  For complete results, hit the jump to check out the press release.  Fair warning, though, respondents ranked Olivia Wilde at number #10 in the "sexiest" category, essentially voiding all of its supposed findings. Here's the press release: It's been a newsy week for Natalie Portman, who has been »
