Thor: Kenneth Branagh reflects on directing the movie

6 hours ago | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

Kenneth Branagh on making Thor, and why he never directed Thor: The Dark World...

Kenneth Branagh's latest film as director is the incoming live action take on Cinderella, that Disney is releasing later this month. That's likely to become his biggest hit to date, a title that is currently held by his sole contribution to the Marvel cinematic universe, Thor.

His Thor film introduced Chris Hemsworth into the role (as well as Tom Hiddleston as Loki), and was a success for Marvel. However, when it came time to shoot Thor: The Dark World, Branagh's name wasn't on the credits. Instead, Alan Taylor - now finishing up Terminator: Genisys - directed the film.

Chatting to The Hollywood Reporter, Branagh didn't rule out returning to do another Marvel movie. "What I found was that I enjoyed the process of working with those people and I loved the boys and the girl. »

'Thor' Director Teases a Return to Marvel Universe

6 hours ago | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Thor director Kenneth Branagh took part in The Hollywood Reporter's The Hollywood Masters interview series last week, where he spoke about his experience working with Marvel and teased the possibility of returning to direct yet another McU movie. Here's what he had to say to the crowd at Loyola Marymount University School of Film & Television in Los Angeles last week.

"Yeah, I mean what I found was that I just enjoyed the process of working with those people and I loved the boys and the girl. The girls as well. It was great. So that was fun. But it was a long time and they were way too quick for me to get straight back into another single sort of story in terms of working on it at that time, so who knows. Who knows. It was a pleasurable experience and a film I'm very proud of and one I »

Iron Man and Hulk Avengers: Age of Ultron Posters Joined by Nick Fury, Black Widow and Thor

21 hours ago | TheHDRoom | See recent TheHDRoom news »

Marvel picked up the pace with their Avengers: Age of Ultron character poster reveals by dispensing with the one-a-day practice and doling out three new posters to presumably cut the number of posters left in half.

Samuel L. Jackson kept the trend of Avengers: Age of Ultron character poster reveals alive on Friday after Mark Ruffalo and Robert Downey Jr. started the fun a couple days earlier. Jackson revealed the posters for Nick Fury, Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth), most likely because the latter two actors won't be revealing their own character posters on social media.

With Iron Man, Hulk, Black Widow, Nick Fury and Thor on the board, next week should deliver Captain America (Chris Evans), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), and finally the one everyone is looking forward to the most since Marvel has deliberately kept him in the shadows thus far, »

Recap: 'Saturday Night Live' – Dakota Johnson and Alabama Shakes

28 February 2015 8:00 PM, PST | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

I get it: There are more than a few concerned fans worried that tonight’s “Saturday Night Live” might be a less-than-stellar edition. Most know host Dakota Johnson from her most recent film role, which isn't exactly a "Bridesmaids"-esque romp. But think of it less as one hosted by the star of “Fifty Shades Of Grey” and rather one hosted by the former lead of the late, great Fox comedy “Ben And Kate.” Dakota Johnson might be more (or near-exclusively) known for the former, but she was straight-up funny on the latter. And while we’ll probably see more references to Christian Grey than Ben Fox, I just don’t have the same hopeless feeling I did before Blake Shelton took the stage in January. (Also? I'm never going to see "Fifty Shades Of Grey," but this recap is going to be a sarcasm-free when it comes to that book/movie franchise. »

Chris Hemsworth on Thor’s role in Avengers: Age of Ultron, promises “a lengthy fight scene of destruction”

28 February 2015 3:41 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Coinciding with the release of yesterday’s Thor character poster, the official Marvel site has posted an in depth interview with Chris Hemsworth, during which the star offered up a few details about the God of Thunder’s role in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

“We pick up with Thor having stayed on Earth from Thor: The Dark World. He’s part of the team. This is his home for the moment. The initial attack from Ultron is personal because it’s at all the Avengers, and Thor then begins to see a bigger sort of picture here about what this threat could be potentially. And it begins to tie in to all of our films… I think [Thor] openly admits he doesn’t think we can win this one. The threat is so great that all of them are scratching their heads wondering if this it. It’s just an onslaught, »

Chris Hemsworth Dishes On 'Thor' Dream Scenes, Fights And More In Avengers: Age Of Ultron

27 February 2015 3:30 PM, PST | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

When Collider, HitFix and several other media sites visited the secret London set of Marvel's forthcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron last year, they had witnessed the filming of a battle scene between Chris Hemsworth's Asgardian Thor and Paul Bettany's android the Vision. About the sequence, which apparently takes place under the "the upper balcony of the main room of the Avengers Tower set," the Aussie actor says, "This is their first meeting, and as you can see, it's conflicted. It’s a big fight scene." Afterwards, Hemsworth had talked lengthily with the journalists about Thor's dream sequence by way of the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and how Thor factors into the story without Tom Hiddlston's God of Mischief Loki, among other things. "We pick up with Thor having stayed on Earth from Thor 2, so he’s here, he’s part of the team," said Chris of where »

Joss Whedon on the scope of Avengers: Age of Ultron and its “unhinged” climax

As Marvel steps up the publicity for Avengers: Age of Ultron with a series of character posters [check them out here], Yahoo! Movies caught up with Joss Whedon, during which the director discussed the scope of the hotly-anticipated sequel and its “unhinged” final act as Earth’s Mightiest Heroes take on the villainous AI and his army of Ultron bots.

Avengers: Age of Ultron got larger than the first film,” states Whedon. “I didn’t mean for it to get larger, but the climax that I pitched was completely unhinged and nobody said no, so that’s that… To me, adventure film is the best way to put it. Then science fiction, action, western, war, woman’s picture, horror movie … I’m not kidding; every single one of those things is in there.”

“You know they’re going to fight Ultron,” he continues. “You know Ultron has a tendency to build hundreds of Ultrons. »

Getting some solo treatment in the upcoming film's latest poster is none other than the Asgardian warrior and God of Thunder, Thor. As you can see in below, the ultra-jacked up superhero is looking mighty serious, as if ready to murder someone. Just in case we had any doubts that Thor would be ready to kick some ass in the new Avengers sequel, the above poster certainly reassures us. 'Avengers 2' Thor Poster with Chris Hemsworth

27 February 2015 11:09 AM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

A new wave of character posters have been arriving this week for Avengers: Age of Ultron, with the stars themselves releasing the one-sheets through their official Twitter accounts. Apparently Samuel L. Jackson has become the ambassador for his Twitter-less cast mates, debuting posters for his own character Nick Fury, along with Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow and Chris Hemsworth's Thor earlier today. It's clear that all of these one-sheets take place at the same battle, but since they all have slightly different backgrounds, perhaps they will all form one gigantic poster, similar to the one Marvel debuted at Comic-Con last summer.

In Avengers: Age of Ultron, Tony Stark attempts to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program. Things soon go awry and Earth's Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. »
