Very clear insight, good flick

Great film. The viewer wouldn't even acknowledge how short it is, because it's complete. Very good directing: neat, smart colors, logic unfolding of the action, good explication of characters, no gross goofs as to what the shooting is concerned. Bravo, Corneliu Porumboiu! The storyline is extricated and relatively easy to follow. Nevertheless, this does not weaken the movie's insight or its quality of arousing interest. In social terms, Liviu is a true Romanian hero and evolves as such. His dream is the hidden dream of a man with substantive willpower. At a first thought, Liviu's portrayal in this movie might appear a bit sententious and abounding in deep ethical connotations. However, this foundation is wittily blanketed by the intrinsic story.

Great use of music. Never irritatingly loud. Relevant rhythm. Realistic dialogue.

Entirely worthwhile. Watch it.
