Children would watch anything that featured cute characters. In these said shows, these cute critters are filled with hugs and cheer. But Raze's Hell cast them in a whole different light, a very evil light. If you can't stand cute and cuddly monsters, then check out Majesco and Artech Studios' Raze's Hell.
Plot: Kewtopia, home of the cute creatures called Kewletts. They have the perfect society, the perfect life, etc. One day, the Princess decided to venture into the wastelands to cute-tify its denizens. By cute-tify, I mean kill everyone. When a villager named Raze returns to his home, he witnesses his people being massacred by the Kewletts. The Kewlett troops chase him until he stumbles upon a cave containing an ancient relic. Upon touching it, Raze is transformed into a powerful warrior consumed with rage. Guided by a mysterious creature named Slivh, Raze journeys to Kewtopia to stop the Kewlett soldiers and their Princess from spilling more blood. 5/5
Graphics: While the characters and the scenery look beautiful and colorful, the cut scenes are kinda bland. Artech Studios should've done a better job on the cut scenes. The way how the Kewletts die is very nice touch especially how they get slammed into the screen or reduced to bloody chunks. 4/5
Sound: The voice acting is simply humorous. The way how the Kewletts speak can bring out a laugh or two, even if they get a little paranoid about their impending deaths from Raze. The music also suits the humor of the game. 5/5
Gameplay: There are no puzzles or finding any specific objects to get where you have to go. It's all about hunting and killing the Kewletts. Raze can find and suck up this strange fruit called squibs. These squibs act as the basic weapons from machine guns to rocket launchers and they give Raze special abilities. Raze also has a sword-like attachment on his left arm used for cutting Kewletts to chunks. Raze can also run over his foes with a rolling attack. There aren't any health packs to heal Raze's wounds, the only way for him to recover is to suck up the remains of his enemies. A nice change from the usual health items. Not bad for a budget title. 5/5
