Kunis Burned Her Filthy Eli Clothes

29 December 2009 5:31 PM, PST | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Actress Mila Kunis was so glad to be done with her filthy outfit from post-apocalypse drama The Book Of Eli she burned it.

The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star hated having to don the same dirty clothes every day on the set of the upcoming Denzel Washington film and staged a ceremonial send-off when the film wrapped.

She tells WENN, "I kept none of my ensemble from the film. It was so dirty and filthy. In fact I burned it in effigy when we wrapped production."

And Kunis urges film fans not to be swept up by her tough-girl character in the new film - she'd be no good surviving after a nuclear blast.

She adds, "In a post-apocalyptic world I would need toilet paper, so as not use leaves for the rest of my life. I wouldn't know what to eat. I would eat that snake with the yellow tail because I wouldn't know it's poisonous.

"But I could kick some serious a**, especially in five-inch heels. It's amazing what I could do. I could throw a really strong right hook. I learned that from my Max Payne (movie) training. And I could shoot really well. And I could run really fast, so if anything happened, I'd run." »

Brand's Movie Breakthrough Was Written For Grant

29 December 2009 2:01 PM, PST | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Russell Brand's breakthrough movie role in Forgetting Sarah Marshall was originally intended for Hugh Grant.

The film's writer and star Jason Segel has revealed he dreamed up Grant as his onscreen love rival in the film, but had to rejig the part when Brand blew him away at an audition.

Segel tells 944 magazine, "The part was originally written to be a British author, like a Hugh Grant type.

"Russell walked in to audition, and was so charismatic and good. It was a different choice, but made perfect sense. He captured that guy you totally hate and is dating your ex-girlfriend.

"He was perfect. He's a consummate gentleman and a pleasure to act with... Russell's going to be a huge star." »

Brand Purchases Los Angeles Lovenest

Comedian Russell Brand has fuelled reports he's ready to settle down with girlfriend Katy Perry after splashing out $3.52 million (£2.2 million) on a new Los Angeles lovenest.

The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star is alleged to have proposed to Perry last week (ends25Dec09) after spending the run-up to the Christmas holiday together in his native Britain.

The couple spent Christmas Day oceans apart as the I Kissed A Girl hitmaker jetted back home to L.A. to celebrate the festive season with her family, while Brand remained in London.

But the funnyman appears to be making moves to relocate to California permanently - he's placed his home in north London on the market for $4 million (£2.5 million) and purchased a 1920s-style house on the West Coast.

The lavish four-storey home boasts four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a powder room and an outdoor swimming pool. »

"When we do these murder nights, we watch movies, then we drive around at midnight, all around to these murder houses and take photos and we recreate the murder scenes. It's really twisted and weird.

"We went to the Black Dahlia house... We went by the Hillside Strangler's place and the Playboy model who was murdered by her ex-husband (Dorothy Stratten); that house looks exactly the same now as it does in the murder book... It's just creepy.

"That house gives us bad vibes every time we're there. We should stop going." »

Collider Goes to Dinner With Mike Judge

21 December 2009 8:20 PM, PST | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

There are two sides to Mike Judge in Hollywood. There’s the TV star, who took a ton of heat but came out as one of the most daring and biting voices of satire in the 1990’s with Beavis and Butthead, and the successful maistream animator with a thirteen season run of the folksy and engaging King of the Hill. Then there’s the film director, who was cajoled into the theatrical Beavis and Butthead Do America, but has worked in live action ever since. He made two films for 20th Century Fox to see them abandoned theatrically, only for both 1999’s Office Space and 2006’s Idiocracy to now be regaled as cult classics. His most recent film, 2009’s Extract did not set the film world afire (Extract is now available on DVD and Blu-ray), but it showed a less biting Judge doing what he does best: everyday life comedy. »

Mike Judge talks 'Extract': Dinner with the 'Beavis and Butt-head' creator

21 December 2009 4:08 PM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

When I'm offered a dinner with director Mike Judge, there's very little convincing needed.

Not only is Judge responsible for the underrated comedy "Extract"  (available on DVD and Blu-Ray on Tuesday, Dec. 22) but he's also the sly genius behind Fox's Emmy-winning "King of the Hill," the 1990s iconic cartoon "Beavis and Butt-head" and one of the best workplace comedies of all time, "Office Space."

It was a cool December evening when my fellow reporters and I descended upon Joe's Restaurant in Venice, Calif., where a custom-designed four-course tasting menu with wine pairings awaited us. With the help of champagne, the conversation kicked off with talk of Comic-Con, which Judge said was filled with "very likable nerds."

Speaking of nerds ...

I am one for taking this picture. Yes, I was seated next to Mike Judge. Okay, my name is misspelled, but still -- Mike Judge!

Our humble director probably caught on »

New Images from Your Highness, The Adjustment Bureau, Repo Men, and Get Him To The Greek

21 December 2009 1:52 PM, PST | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Along with their great news about the release date for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, The Playlist also landed some new (albeit tiny) images for David Gordon Green’s Your Highness starring Danny McBride, James Franco, and Natalie Portman; George Nolfi’s The Adjustment Bureau starring Matt Damon and Emily Blunt; Repo Men starring Liev Schreiber, Jude Law, and Forest Whitaker; and Nicholas Stoller’s Get Him to the Greek starring Russell Brand and Jonah Hill.  You can also see tiny images for some other films but those are the biggies because they’re on the top row and there’s no way you can argue with how those images were placed.  My logic is bulletproof.

The Playlist also has a couple of slightly larger images from The Adjustment Bureau and Greek and you can check them both out after the jump.

10 Movie Events That Shaped the Decade (For Movie Fans)

21 December 2009 10:29 AM, PST | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

We’ve come to the end of 2009, so we thought we’d weigh in with a look back at the first 10 years of the 21st century in the movie world and discuss the various different “events” which shaped the decade. Obviously we can’t cover absolutely everything, but sticking true to our core movie genres on the site, we’re just going to concentrate on the comic-book, sci-fi, action (and so forth) types of movies and take a look at what films had the maximum impact over this decade.

It’s amazing to think that it’s been 10 years since movies like The Matrix, American Beauty and Fight Club (to name but a few) came out in 1999 (check out our 1999 decade highlight, if you haven’t already). A Lot of movies – somewhere in the vicinity of 5,000-6,000 – have been released since then. We’ve had the good, the bad and »

Russell Brand to Move In With Katy Perry

20 December 2009 11:41 PM, PST | Celebrity Mania | See recent Celebrity Mania news »

Russell Brand fueled a rumor that he plans to take his relationship with singer girlfriend Katy Perry to the next level. Daily Star claimed that the British comedian is about to live together with the "I Kissed a Girl" hitmaker since he has bought a mansion in The Summit estate for them.

The "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" actor purchased the Los Angeles gated pad for $3.5 million. The house itself is located in the same neighborhood Britney Spears once lived for 18 months, and boasts seven bedrooms.

Rumor that Russell is heading to a more serious relationship with Katy first emerged in early November. At that time, he was reported to leave his native Britain to move in with her in America after he put his Hampstead home, which spreads out over 2,000 square feet, in market.

Adding to the rumor, Russell was seen shopping for a diamond ring on December 12. News of the »

Wherever it goes, especially in Europe and the former Soviet states, "Georgia" will cause a lot of talk and controversy as the incidents depicted are still so fresh in many's minds. Like all topics of the sort, it'll also have its strong supporters and detractors having opinions on the film long before a frame of footage is screened anywhere.

Shot on-location in Tbilisi, the project also marks a potential return to form for Finnish director Renny Harlin. Given the right material the skilled action director delivered three »

Watch Jason Segel Perform Sarah Marshall's Vampire Rock Opera Live!

If you.ve seen Forgetting Sarah Marshall then you know that the best thing in, what is easily one of the best movies of the past few years, is Jason Segel.s brilliantly performed, all-puppet vampire rock opera at the end of the film. And now it seems he.s taking the show on the road. Late night television show Craig Fergusen has a thing for puppets and last night he had Segel on to perform, live, his character.s signature puppet number from Sarah Marshall. In the video below you.ll see Segel on stage with a Dracula puppet, performing a hipped up, rocked out version of .Dracula.s Lament.. I still prefer the version used in the movie, you can.t beat those closing moments when Dracula moans .Die! Die! Die.. But there.s something hilariously fun in watching Segel perform it live. Jason Segel Performs “Dracula’s Lament” on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson

16 December 2009 6:00 PM, PST | Slash Film | See recent Slash Film news »

Last night was the one thousandth episode of The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, but evidently interns backstage failed to inform the ever-emo Dracula of the celebration. And not helping to curb his Transylmania-prolonged depression was the fact that Ferguson's Wavy the Alligator attempted to chomp his hand-puppet thunder as the ep's defacto host. The upside? Drac was there alongside beanied actor/songwriter Jason Segel to perform "Dracula's Lament," their hit moody ballad that first appeared in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Watch the concert and more, below. If you're wondering, the backing band in the clip above is Los Angeles quintet The Broken West, who are signed to Chapel Hill's Merge Records. Back in September, we reported that Disney and Segal had officially agreed to make The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made, a dream project Segel wrote and will star in. Kunis Left Battered As Ballerina

15 December 2009 5:41 PM, PST | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Actress Mila Kunis is suffering for her art while playing a ballerina in moviemaker Darren Aronofsky's new thriller - because her clumsy nature has left her with bumps, bruises, cuts and a separated shoulder.

The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star is covered with bandages as she hobbles around the set - and she just wishes she was more graceful.

She explains, "I'm broken. I've pulled so many ligaments, I have tendinitis in my left knee... I had to get an Mri because I popped my shoulder out, and then it inflamed. My toes and hips are bruised."

But her three month preparation for the role and ongoing work-outs have been worth it - Kunis is in great shape.

She adds, "I'm in the sickest shape I've been in my life by far. I'm also on a really strict diet. I'm dieting, then working out three or four hours a day." »
