DJ:It's shaping up to be a beautiful day here in the city of angels, where Republican presidential candidate, Patricia Lonsdale makes a quick, and somewhat less serious campaign stop to dedicate the opening of a new recreation center for disadvantaged youth in the Venice area. This marks the governor's first trip to California since winning...
British DJ:Due to an increased threat-level, the governor's visit will be marked by heighten security. Lonsdale's controversial plan to clamp down on poor security on the importation of illegal goods has sparked heated debate, even among her own supporters. Detractors have called her stance reckless and warn of potentially dire consequences...

A typical Euromovie -- oddly accented trash that is so bad it's laughable, 7 March 2013
Author: grainstorms from New York, NY

There were always movies like "Body Armour," but years ago we were lucky enough to never see them. These were foreign films made for home consumption, or at most, for down-markets in South America or Asia. Scripted in a week, shot in a month, they were basically ripoffs of the top-selling international genres of the time -- espionage, combat, martial arts, etc. The stars were local actors , often given pseudonyms that sounded faintly American. If some fairly well-known actor was in town, he or she might be offered a couple of weeks' work, which made a nice break from a too-long vacation, and the picture then would be touted as a star vehicle. Although touted as English-language films, English was not the first language of most of the cast, assembled from all over the globe, like the crew of a tramp steamer, so everybody had a different accent. If the accents were so intrusive or if most of the cast spoke in their native tongue, the movie would be dubbed into English, frequently with hysterical results. The movies didn't hang around very long, eventually winding up with subtitles in Tamil or Tagalog and then finally put out of their misery and converted into guitar picks. Occasionally an American tourist would report back about a weird version of some popular movie that they had caught in a backwater village overseas, but most Americans were spared the experience... until DVDs globalized this rancid sub-form and pictures like "Body Armour" began popping up on our radar. Now everybody everywhere is exposed to this hastily packaged waste product, and nobody is safe. If you haven't dozed off while watching this mess, look for Bronx boy Chazz Palmintieri, who is incapable of a bad performance, no matter where he may find himself.
