British actress Naomie Harris has been nominated for an Oscar for her role as a crack-addicted mother in the 2016 indie drama Moonlight. "No Small Parts" takes a look at some other roles she's played in her career.
What kind of film festival did Howard Stern conduct if this was the winner? It comes as no surprise that the film clearly meets the 'sycophant' requirement as it relentlessly kisses the ass of the cast members of that bore-fest of a radio show that is now dying a slow death on satellite radio. What is surprising, however, is that a group of so-called judges didn't blush when voting to give an award to such an overindulgent exercise in brown-nosing. I could only get through three quarters of it before moving on to some real quality short films at Sundance's website. UPDATE: There are rumors that the New York State Attorney General Office is planning an investigation into "irregularities" in the Howard Stern Film Festival as allegations have been received that show 'insiders' influenced the selection of films that made it to the finals and that at least one professional filmmaker was used in the production of 'Radio Play', a contest violation. Stay tuned!
