Need for speed has always been cool. you cannot deny that. however, the gameplay is always changing, and it's a ditto whether the game will turn out good, or bad.
And in carbon, it turned out bad.
OK, so picking up from the previous game, you left rockport city and have arrived in some random town in which 3 different gangs rule the streets (GTA rip-off? Grove street, Ballas and Vagos?) and they all drive a special style of car. well, as the player, you meet up with Nikki, who pretty much gives you a car after your BMW from most wanted got trashed after driving it into a semi truck. after that, you drive in races which are too easy to win, and go up against a boss who is near impossible to beat. kinda reminds you of rocky from the Sega master system, right? it's easy at first, but then, it gets impossible.
i bought a collectors edition from a pawn shop for 13 bucks, but it's not even worthy of being called "Collectable" because it's just ridiculous.
I like EA's soundtracks, but nowadays they're getting ridiculous. joker and the thief by wolfmother was in the game, and thats a pretty cool song (It was in jackass number 2 and a Mitsubishi commercial, so some might consider it similar) but the soundtrack takes a horrible turn with lady sovereign in the soundtrack.
A British chick rapping "Love me or hate me" is not worthy of even being in a movie or game. it just doesn't work.
4 out of ten. give me back most wanted. that NFS game kicked ass.
