The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

One scene shows a woman briefly in her underwear getting dressed. You see her buttocks in a thong (non-sexual).

Reacher appears topless.

A man describes a "rape rally" that occured where many women and girls were raped by soldiers. We see the men outside of the building, apparently after the raping.

Sandy references sex multiple times some more obvious than others.

Uses of Slut and whore in one scene.

Woman has short skirt and deep cleavage.

Violence & Gore

Violence right from the start, when a lone gunman shoots five people with a sniper rifle (a scene that's revisited later in the movie). This is implied but not explicitly shown. One of the victims is a nanny who is caring for a 6-year old child and reassuring her everything is going to be OK just before being shot.

Jack Reacher, the main character, is a former soldier, highly trained with guns and in hand-to-hand combat, and the film finds plenty of chances to showcase his abilities. He takes on a group of toughs in a few street brawls, leaving them bloodied and sometimes with broken bones. Other scenes feature execution-style killings and allusions to torture. Not graphic and very brief. There's also a high-speed chase through city streets that damages plenty of cars.

One woman killed by blow to the head and suffocated by hand, and one villain killed by hitting him twice in the head with a large rock. Another victim is killed by having his skull crushed offscreen by being stepped on.

At the end of the movie, a young man is being aggressive to his girlfriend on a bus before the movie's protagonist intervenes.

Relatively infrequent swearing, but includes "pussy," "shit," "asshole," "bitch," "prick," "damn," "hell," "ass," "goddamn", "for Chr*st's sake", "Jesus"

One use of the phrase "f*** you". The word "f*** you" is mouthed as well.

Infrequent use of the words whore and slut

Helen says to her dad Rodin: (F*** you!)

One scene takes place in a bar where people in the background are drinking. Reacher sticks to coffee. A villain owns a cocaine farm, and it is spoken about briefly.

Sandy mentions her friend Jed "cooks crystal meth".

An older woman is shown on the porch of a house seemingly strung out on drugs.

At one point, main characters talk while drinking beers.

Action scenes are sometimes intense. Not much blood.

Victims are caused excruciating pain during fight scenes - thumbs poked in eye, kicks to crotch, arms and fingers twisted.

A villain is told to bite his own fingers off to prove he deserves not be killed by his boss.
