Could Have Been A Vanity Project But Isn't
27 August 2013 | by (Isle Of Bute , Scotland) – See all my reviews

Suggestive Spoilers A Ukranian man Andrej gets in to a conversation with a young Chechen woman Moya . Within a short period of time a relationship blossoms but is either of them who they seem to be ?

Robert Cambrinus seems a very hands on type of person . Not content with merely writing a short film and directing it he stars in it too . Hopefully this means a strong producer is required because sometimes even a short film becomes a self indulgent vanity project cum ego trip but to be fair Cambrinus just about pulls it off though to be blunt Andrej's accent is a bit too generic foreign meerkat but it's better than Audrey McCoy's Moya whose accent occasionally belies her Celtic roots . The story itself has a surprise twist at the end so if you're expecting a short romantic drama featuring two people from different backgrounds falling in love you might be in for a shock which makes his short film slightly more than ordinary and it's interesting to note unlike a lot of people making or appearing in short movies Cambrinus has managed to carve out a relatively successful career behind and in front of the cameras
