Gash and Screech's love for loud music has landed Rab and Mary in trouble with the council as the noise pollution has had a profound affect on an elderly neighbour's nerves. The day after their meeting with the council, Rab angrily confronts the old lady's husband, Mr. McBride, from whom he learns that his wife has died, allegedly from stress. Desperate to clear their name, the family appear on a 'Jeremy Kyle' style chat show entitled 'The Uncle Bob Show' but they get nowhere.
However, it is later discovered that it is not Rab who is responsible for Mrs. McBride's death but in fact her husband, who unbenknownst to anyone is a psychopathic murderer....
This wasn't the first time Rab was accused of murder. He was accused of murdering a pathologist in the series four episode 'Eorpa' but this episode is immesurably funnier. As I said in my 'Eorpa' review, I pointed out that how anyone could think of Rab being a murderer is ludicrous. For all his faults, a murderer he ain't and anyone who doesn't feel sorry for him as he desperately attempts to prove his innocence has a heart of stone. Andrew Robertson plays the evil McBride while chat show host Uncle Bob is played by the late David McAllister. Ford Kiernan is briefly seen as a radio presenter.
Funniest bit - on 'The Uncle Bob Show', Gash openly admits to having sex with a melon ( a gag that would later be used in the series eight episode 'Fruit' ). ''Disgusting, I ate that!'' shrieks Mary.
Second funniest bit - Rab and Mary, steaming drunk, waking up in a pond. ''Well, that must have been some pish I did!'' says Rab to Mary.
