Meanwhile, Marissa visits Kaitlin at her posh boarding school, who needs her help to get out of trouble with another student. After Ryan brought Volchok to the hospital after he nearly and inadvertently tried to kill him, Volchok wants Ryan to help him with some illegal activities; which includes some burglary and the theft of a car, otherwise he will bust Ryan to the cops. Mischa Barton. She is actually British, so her accent would have been accurate.

Ryan and Volchok make a deal after a fallout at prom. Sandy is chosen as Man of the Year, but this sparks the DA to dig deeper into his involvement with the hospital problems. Marissa goes and sees Kaitlin at her boarding school and Seth visits the Newport Group HQ and lights up the joint.
Seth confronts his father and stands up for his mother. Kirsten needs help and luckily her son is there. But in which parallel universe is Sandy? It's really cool to have Kaitlin in this episode, she's totally fun, and it was an episode with a chance for Marissa to get out of the O.C. That's what she needed, a family moment, with all her Volchok drama. Unfortunately, Ryan always feels like he must take care or her business, and that includes what's happening in this episode.
And it seems, it's Seth's turn to leave a Newport Party with the handcuffs on.
