Alive: Back to the Andes
21 July 2006 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

I saw the film Alive and thought it was quite an extraordinary story of survival, and then there was this programme with celebrities climbing the same mountain. Basically celebrities Roberto Canessa, Carole Caplin, Jean-Christophe Novelli, Nando Parrado and Adam Rickitt with John Hauf the mountaineering expert, they had to climb the same mountain the survivors climbed to find help. Through the journey, they had nothing to eat but meat, but not not human obviously, they were only going to eat raw animal meat, which is a representation as well as a frowned food. A couple of the celebrities failed because of injury or sickness, but they did make it eventually to the point where the real survivors were rescued. Narrated by Steven Berkoff, and with interviews with the real survivors. Good!
