Trivia

The first three digits of House's Social Security number, shown on his wristband, indicate that he applied for it in Ohio (where he is presumably from). The wristband also shows his date of birth as June 11, 1959 - Hugh Laurie's actual birth date.
Another reference to Sherlock Holmes. The man who shoots House is called Moriarty, although he is not identified as such in the episode (the name is taken from press materials and the script).
According to the DVD commentary, by the end of filming the scene where House runs a robot limb along Cameron's body, even some crew members were blushing.
The taco stand "The Cactus" that is used in this episode is a very popular spot for Mexican food in Los Angeles, on Vine St. north of Melrose. This is one of the few outdoors scenes that is an easy-to-spot Los Angeles locale

In the end of season two, House hallucinates after being shot, and through his hallucinations gains consciousness again. In the third season of the TV show Sherlock (2010), Sherlock does the same thing to save his own life after being shot. House' character has been said to be based on Sherlock Holmes, the same character Sherlock (2010) is based on.
