Storyline

On a planet where thousands were embracing the faith of Origin, a single wave of energy -destroying only living tissue- kills them all and the Prior. General Landry hears from Master Bra'tac, who is out of favor with the new leadership, and then its chief Se'tak, that it was ordered by the Jaffa council which intends to stop the Ori at all cost, using the ancient weapon from Dakara which successfully eliminated the Replicators. Teal'c and Mitchell on the empty Ori ship are captured by certain members of Bo'rel's armed Free Jaffa force; Daniel and Vala too, but their Jaffa captors fall prey in turn to Vala's evil Ori-daughter Adria, the sole survivor from the force wave. Against Landry's advice Se'tak orders to use the weapon at full power, which should destroy the planet and all ships around it, from which the Odyssey can evacuate the SG-1 members using the rings just in time, but it has no effect on the Ori ship, which in turn fires on the weapon on Dakara... Quotes

Teal'c: A great Jaffa warrior once said exalted is the warrior who achieves victory without battle.
Lt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell: Winning shows strength. Winning without fighting shows true skill.
Teal'c: Hmm. You are a student of ancient strategies.
Lt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell: No, General Landry said it to me. I think he was quoting Sun Tzu. Or it could have been Doctor Phil.

Biig Idea, Little Budget
9 October 2015 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

It seems the Ori story was far bigger than the budget. There's a galaxy wide war going on. But SG-1 has the budget for an empty Ori ship, some energy waves, and Jaffa once again stomping around the corridors of a ship.

This episode tries to make a point about weapons. The point is either don't use them, because that's mean, or if you use them the enemy will wipe you out.

The Ori are invading the galaxy, using god-like powers to conquer all. The Jaffa have a weapon to use against them. SGC, especially Landry, are appalled at killing the enemy.

The actress who plays Adria was also on Firefly, aka the Old West in Space. She has one skill as an actress. The skill is she looks good.

There's another random, too militant Jaffa leader. He came out of nowhere to lead the Jaffa. He wants to, gasp, use a weapon to defeat the Ori's forces. That's bad bad bad. There's no room for debate. This Jaffa leader is depicted as bad. The folly of using an effective weapon bites him.
