A torch singer hires Pete to find out who's blackmailing her

Average episode with the usual attractive series features, but nothing special. Well, except maybe for fans of Pamela Britton, (Mr. & Mrs. North {1952-54}), who gets an extended showcase as the conflicted widow. Plus, that's really her doing the expert torch singing. Also, catch little Anne Whitfield's first scene where her many twitches are perfectly timed. The ending manages a neat little twist that I didn't see coming. Anyhow, Pete's his usual low-key self, while Lt. Jacoby sort of plays tag-along. One thing for sure, I won't be taking anything electronic to a guy named Arkie.
