Trivia

Once again, Mr. Burns is used to parody Howard Hughes. In "$pringfield," he developed obsessive compulsive disorder and had a model plane called the "Spruce Moose." In this episode, he actually flies a giant wooden plane, called the "Plywood Pelican." See more »

Quotes

Nurse: Let me explain from behind this cage. Now, your pills have become very expensive and no one could give a rat's ass about you. So after a lot of thought, we decided to let you go cold turkey. For those of you who will survive the night, we'll be having waffles.
Jasper Beardly: Ooh waffles!
Grampa Simpson: I didn't die in World War II just to be pushed around by some pill-hoarding hussy! I'm gonna fight this thing!
Old Jewish Man: Agh, he's crazy, but what are you gonna do? He's young.

A weak episode indeed
16 November 2017 | by See all my reviews

I'm currently catching up on he 16th series of the show via DVD, and up until this point the episodes had been of a good standard.

This one however is just plain silly, and not that good at all. I was open mouthed at some points bewildered at how silly it all was.

Burns cuts the plants drug plan, that aspect of the plot is simple enough, but what follows is a ridiculous plot involving all manner of characters, all doing ridiculous things.

I know 'The Simpsons' is a comedy, of course I do, but I do think I prefer it when it is grounded in a bit of reality and has some heart.
