A little boy visits the clinic with his mom, and when House wipes away the red dye from his chest, the boy sneezes by accident. House (Hugh Laurie) stayed in character and ad-libbed saying "bless you."
At the beginning of the episode, an incoming landline telephone call to Dr. House is answered by a physical answering machine, and you hear the outgoing message. His recording imitates one commonly heard when calling wrong or disconnected telephone numbers on the old network at one period of time; however, the text differs by one word. The official Phone Company recording was: "You have reached a number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service." Dr. House's outgoing message says, "... disconnected and is no longer in service". Telephone phreaks have long disparaged the illogical nature of that particular Phone Company recording, but Dr. House's "correction" fixes it.
Crandall is the name of House's friend. It's also the name of the costume designer (Cathy Crandall).
Actor D.B Sweeney would voice adult Aang in the animated series The Legend of Korra, while Lisa Edelstein voices Aang's adult daughter, Kya.
House says, "Wow! Who's been watching Bill Nye the Science Guy?" Bill Nye the Science Guy (1993) was an Emmy-award-winning educational television program. Each episode, 100 in all, aimed to teach a specific topic in science to a preteen audience yet garnered a broad adult audience.
