Did You Know?

Just as Jack's plane is about to land on the freeway, a series of white stripes can be seen on the road. These appear to be runway touchdown markers, not something normally seen on freeways. See more »

President Charles Logan: [after agent Pierce is beaten up by Logan's men, Logan offers to allow Pierce to remain a Secret Service agent elsewhere if he keeps his mouth shut] "... Is my offer acceptable to you?"
Aaron Pierce: [Pierce, tied to a chair] "There is nothing that you have said or done that is acceptable to me in the least. You're a traitor to this country and a disgrace to your office. And it's my duty to see that you're brought to justice for what you've done. Is there anything else, Charles?"

Jack Lands The Plane Safely
13 September 2012 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

With Graem's help, Logan decides to launch one final attempt to destroy the plane Jack Bauer has hijacked, thus securing the recording that implicates him in the conspiracy surrounding the day's events. The military scrambles an F-18 from Point Mugu with orders to shoot down the plane. At CTU, several agents begin working with Jack, Chloe, and Buchanan. Jack is able to land the plane, having recovered the recording and is extracted by Curtis as Logan sends in the military to take him into custody. Tensions continue to rise in Logan's retreat as the President, on discovering that Jack has escaped with the recording, contemplates suicide. Meanwhile, Bierko is transported to another facility, and Miles Papazian, one of Karen Hayes' people, attempts to further his career by erasing the recording to gain a favor from Logan.

In summary, here the events that happened during that hour:

1.Jack Bauer learns that President Logan has authorized an F-18 Hornet to shoot Flight 520 out of the sky. Jack forces the co-pilot, Scott Evans, to make an emergency landing on the 118 Freeway.

2.Karen Hayes informs Vladimir Bierko that he is being transferred to a primary holding facility at District Headquarters.

3.At Counter Terrorist Unit Karen tells Jack about a scheduled conference call with the Attorney General regarding the recording that incriminates President Logan. Jack gives the recording to Chloe O'Brian to clean up and prepare for playback. Jack visits Audrey in the medical clinic and tells her that he secured the recording and that President Logan will pay for President Palmer's assassination.

4.President Charles Logan speaks with Graem and agrees that the country would not be able to handle a sitting President on trial for murder. President Logan loads a handgun and prepares to commit suicide, but receives an unexpected phone call from Miles Papazian, who offers to intervene and destroy the recording. President Logan encourages Miles to act, so Miles distracts Chloe and points a laser at the recording.

As they try to destroy Jack and the recording that implicates President Logan, the villains of Day 5 try to shoot down the plane that he is on.Good thing that Jack isn't alone this time on trying to outwit them as he gets help from Buchanan,Chloe and CTU.Or else, everything else would have become cheesy.

Also,it was great on how Jack was able to land the plane safely and how he was able to evade his enemies.Aside from that,it was also intriguing to see how President Logan almost contemplated on killing himself after that.

Great episode indeed.
