A good supplementary docu-drama to ANDREAS HOFER, die freiheit des Adlers
A movie about the circumstances that led to Andreas Hofers betrayal, by the farmhand Franz Raffl in 1810. A very realistical story about the live and social fabric in the mountain villages of southern tyrol, at the beginning of the 19th century. The DVD set comes with a 2nd disc containing an interesting documentation about the the french - bavarian napoleonic occupation of southern tyrol. Describing in great detail the time between the "battle of Hohenlinden" (1800), until Napoleons doom. If you enjoyed the movie ANDREAS HOFER DIE FREIHEIT DES ADLERS, You would be very interested in this movie. It portraits the aftermath of the mountain farmer uprising, that was shown in the above mentioned movie. It resembles Mel Gibson's BRAVEHEART movie in key details. Like history is repeating itself.
