Trivia

Carcetti is seen at some sort of political fundraising and under the foundation's banner there is another banner reading "The Ella Thompson Foundation". Ella Thompson was a character on 'Wire' creator David Simon's other Baltimore series 'The Corner'. She was based on the real-life Ella Thompson who ran the Martin Luther King rec center. The real-life Ella Thompson died of heart problems so this is clearly nod to her memory. See more »

Joseph 'Proposition Joe' Stewart: Omar to one side holding a spade, and maybe Marlo to the other with a shovel, and just at this moment, I manage to crawl out my own damn grave. No way do I crawl back in.

Building up to another great finale
27 November 2006 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I am giddy with anticipation after watching Bunk's reaction to Lester's proclamation that the vacant building next to the playground is a tomb. It is hard to believe that there are only two episodes left this season. It is even harder to imagine that next season will be the final season. How will the new mayor deal with the school budget deficit after announcing a police pay raise? How will the major crimes unit come back together? Will their be a change at the top of the police department this season? What role will McNulty play in it, if any? Will Omar take control of the city's drug trade, or will there be a free-for-all like "City of God?"
