Boy the world of Reboot sure moved fast, no sooner is Bob out of the picture then the focus begins to subtly shift to little Enzo as he struggles to prove himself as the new system guardian while suffering constant sabotaging propaganda from Megabyte who is determined to make him look a failure in the eyes of Mainframe's fearful populace, even going so far as to block him from entering a game and dooming a section of the city in the process. After Mouse hacks into and adjusts their codes so that they'll be able to Reboot within the games, and with a little inventiveness, Enzo and Andraia manage to reach the next game in time, which is a crazy cartoon world western chase against a demented raccoon who if you'll pardon the expression, behaves like Sonic the Hedgehog if he were on crack! I like the clever domino effect that leads to the hyper raccoon losing the first of his three lives after the stupid-looking bobbleheaded Elmer Fudd Enzo fires his gun, they were definitely starting to put more thought into the games, and you haven't yet begun to see what they could do yet! Megabyte meanwhile resurrects Hexadecimal who now has a fracture in her mask and a different 'hair' style, which I don't think looks as cool as her old one, but he hasn't exactly brought her back for benevolent reasons, it's the start of a cruel scheme of his that sees her fearsome powers effectively under his control thanks to a collar he has fitted her with that causes her intense agony if she disobeys. And it makes for an interesting dynamic, because even though they're both pretty villainous viruses she's definitely beginning to look like the lesser of two evils... So anyway there are big changes afoot in the hierarchy of the show, we're meant to forget about old characters who are missing in action for now and root for new ones, and such is the show's quality that it never really matters all that much, you're always along for the ride and eager to see what turns it will take next no matter what. Now that the old ABC censors were gone and were no longer constantly hovering over the show's writers, you begin to see little touches that you wouldn't have before, like when Megabyte orders the rebellious binome destroyed and it doesn't even show a null crawl out of the poor sap's smoking boots! Two references to Star Trek are made within seconds of each other at that part. And also kind of more risky was when the binome flashes Rocky Raccoon and possibly the Rastafarian binome who's scene is a priceless and very hilarious gag moment. The little moments like that are what made this show a gold one! This is a good episode because it shows that Enzo is starting to gain confidence in his abilities, which is something that continues for the next couple of episodes until it all goes rather horribly wrong, for him and everybody, and then phase three truly begins in earnest...
