This is one of the best episodes of a great season of shows. This time Earl decides to return a police badge he found in a river. He and the gang used the badge to get free food and special considerations as kind of a magic charm . Only it turns out the badge belonged to a cop (Mike O'Malley from "Yes Dear") who was continually losing his badge and being made fun of it by the rest of the cops. He's really not in to police work, in his heart he's really a bowler.

This episode makes one of the best uses of Clint Howard ever. Howard plays a creepy guy named Rodney, who in almost a Smeagal/"Lord of the Rings" lust for the badge, tries to get "the Precious" for himself. He's rarely been funnier.
