First time watching the series and I love it. Just wanted to throw a review up for this episode cause it didn't have any! Anyways this series is badass and I loved this episode. For some reason this episode cracked me up so many times definitely a highlight so far.

This episode was great. Because the relationship between Asuka and Shinji, Mikado and Kaji made me curious about next episodes. And the battle scene with music was fantastic.

Asuka continues to be arrogant and the Evas end up with both feet in the air with one observer declaring ''This is pathetic.'' The perfect combination of audio and visual to describe how I've been feeling about this show so far. Rei has better coordination with Shinji so she would be chosen instead of Asuka but Asuka's pride won't let her accept this so she trains hard with Shinji to be in better sync. There is sexual tension between them as with Misato and Kaji and then 19 minutes in it's fighting time (for a show about war there isn't much actual fighting) and a very stylish fight at that; it resembles a ballet actually. Wonder if Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon was yet another show inspired by Evangelion... In spite of things going like clockwork until they end up in a tangle after they go bickering with each other again. The course of true war never runs smooth.
