Last week, fans got their first look at The Mummy star Sofia Boutella with set photos as production continues. Filming has been under way since late April, when we got our first look at Tom Cruise and his co-star Annabelle Wallis. As production continues, we have even more photos of Tom Cruise and Annabelle Wallis who are seen springing into action.
The photos surfaced on various Twitter pages, featuring Tom Cruise and Annabelle Wallis going on the run from unseen enemies. There is very little we know about the scene itself, except both actors are seen running from someone, or something. It's certainly possible that both stars were running from Sofia Boutella's title character, but we don't know for certain.
Thought safely entombed in a crypt deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient queen (Sofia Boutella}) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her, is awakened in our current day, »
The A-list cast roster for these Universal Monster reboots just keep growing. Today’s addition: Oscar-winning actor Javier Bardem. The Skyfall star is “in talks” to play “Frankenstein” in the studio’s planned Marvel Cinematic Universe-style series of films, according to Variety, though the trade doesn’t specify whether the role in question is that of Dr. Victor Frankenstein -- the man who creates the flat-topped monster originally played by Boris Karloff -- or the creature himself. My guess would be the latter, given that the Monster is the more iconic role. Karloff’s performance is by far the most-remembered element of the original movies. Variety also isn’t clear which film in the interconnected franchise Frankenstein/The Monster would first appear in, citing unnamed “sources” who claim the character(s) will show up in a non-Frankenstein film prior to toplining their own movie (Bride of Frankenstein is currently »

Production has been under way on Universal's The Mummy since April, but there is still much we don't know about this upcoming adventure. Tom Cruise is set to star, although little is known about his character, with Kingsman: The Secret Service breakout star Sofia Boutella playing the title character, marking the first time in franchise history a female has played The Mummy. Today we have the first photos from the set with Sofia Boutella in action.
The photos surfaced on various Twitter pages, giving us our first look at Sofia Boutella's costume as the title character, which come just a few months after our first look at Tom Cruise on the set. Unfortunately, we don't get a glimpse at any of the actress' co-stars, and it isn't exactly clear what is happening in this scene. One thing is for certain, though, her costume is certainly unique.

The Recall is an upcoming sci-fi thriller, from director Mauro Borrelli (The Wolfman). This title, which is currently in pre-production, is a co-production between: You Did It! Productions, Fotocomics Productions and Berger Bros. Entertainment. One source states that actors Wesley Snipes and Rj Mitte will star. Dwayne Johnson as The Wolf Man? Now I’m interested. Of all the Universal monsters, The Wolf Man remains the most human, and while I don’t think Lon Chaney Jr. was a strong overall actor, he was perfectly matched with the character when he played Lawrence Talbot for Universal. The thing that made Chaney so right for the role was the air of sadness that he carried with him, that resigned fear of his own nature as each new full moon approached. He didn’t want to be a monster, and he fought against it as much as he could. He went out of his way to try to keep other people safe. And he was haunted by the knowledge that the only true release from his curse was death. The real Chaney seemed to have his own permanent dark cloud, so it’s hard to tell just how »

When Universal Pictures started their Monster Universe a few years ago, there had been talk of several different classic projects getting rebooted. Dracula Untold became the first installment in this franchise, after a post-credit scene featured Luke Evans' title character showed him emerging in present day. The Mummy reboot will be next out of the gate, hitting theaters next June. But we aren't sure which project is moving forward next. Today we have word that the studio wants Dwayne Johnson to star in their modern update of The Wolf Man.
Buried within Deadline's report about Dwayne Johnson setting up another project at Sony entitled Son of Shaolin, the site claims there are "persistent rumors" that Universal wants the actor to portray the title character, although it isn't clear when that project may get off the ground. If it's far enough down the line, it's possible that Dwayne Johnson may »
Benicio del Toro played The Wolfman in the movie of the same name back in 2010, but it now appears as if this iconic monster is about to get a whole lot more muscular in Universal's planned reboot of the franchise. Like The Mummy (which stars Tom Cruise) and the various other monster movies the studio currently has in the works, The Wolf Man will be part of the shared universe they're trying to create. Deadline mentions in a report about Jay Longino's Son Of Shaolin being adapted by Sony that, "there are persistent rumors Universal wants [Dwayne Johnson] howling at the moon when it gets around to the Wolf Man movie that is part of its classic monsters franchise revival plans." Nothing is set in stone just yet then, but you have to admit that it would be fun seeing the former wrestler in that role. Johnson has a lot of big roles on the horizon, »
Last week, we reported that Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe was in early talks to play a "Jekyll-like role in Universal Pictures' The Mummy reboot. No details were given for this character, but we know that the story is set in modern day, and it will be the first full adventure in the studio's massive monster reboot franchise, set to hit theaters on July 9, 2017. While doing press for his new movie The Nice Guys, Russell Crowe confirmed that he is actually playing Dr. Jekyll.
Production started last month on Universal Pictures' Mummy reboot, with Tom Cruise is reportedly playing a special forces soldier who teams with an archaeologist (Annabelle Wallis), although those character details have yet to be confirmed. Sofia Boutella, who had a breakthrough role in last year's Kingsman: The Secret Service, is playing the Mummy, marking the first time in franchise history that a female has played the title character. »
While Dracula Untold is the official first movie in Universal's Monsters Universe, The Mummy is fully opening up this world that will include a number of iconic crossovers with some of the studio's most infamous ghouls. The remake is set to hit theaters in 2017. It stars Tom Cruise in the lead role, with Sofia Boutella playing the title monster, the first time in series history that this mummified zombie has ever been played by a woman. Universal Pictures has released the official synopsis, which gives us an idea of what we can expect.
"Thought safely entombed in a crypt deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient queen (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her, is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension. From the sweeping sands of the »

Universal Pictures is finally getting their shared Monsters Universe off the ground, as production begins on the Untitled Mummy Reboot. While the title creature is nowhere to be found, the first set photos have leaked. Tom Cruise and Annabelle Wallis are currently shooting in Oxford, England. We don't know what's going on in these first images, but it appears that the actor and his leading lady have had a particularly tough night.
This is our first unofficial look at the movie's two heroes in what is being called a contemporary adventure. Sofia Boutella is also starring in the movie, playing the lead villain. This will be the first time a female has ever played the role of The Mummy in Universal's long and storied franchise. The story takes place in modern day.

After several years of delays, Universal is finally moving forward with their Untitled Mummy Reboot. Last month, the studio confirmed that Tom Cruise is set to star, with Sofia Boutella portraying the title creature, and the studio setting a June 9, 2017 release date. Today we have word from The Hollywood Reporter that Annabelle Wallis has signed on to play the female lead alongside Tom Cruise.
The site reports that Tom Cruise is playing "a special forces soldier (or former soldier)" in the reboot, which is set in modern-day. The previous Mummy movies starring Brendan Fraser were all period pieces, but this project will fall in line with 2014's Dracula Untold, which ended with a prologue that brought the title character into present day. The Untitled Mummy Reboot will be the first movie in the studio's new monster universe that will be set entirely in present day.
Variety reports that Annabelle Wallis »
