The Fields Finally Gets a Release Date

We've been talking about the indie flick The Fields for years now. Literally years. There's no doubt the road has been long, but the flick is finally hitting home video and we've got the details.

But someone liked it, as it has been picked up for distribution just in time to capitalize on Tara Reid's appearance inAmerican Reunion. Man, if feels as if we've been talking about the indie horror flick The Fields like forever. It's been a couple of years at least, that's for sure. In any event, the little flick has scored itself some distro. Read on for the skinny!

Domestic distributor Breaking Glass (Five Star Day, Cropsey, The Living Wake) aggressively snapped up the indie thriller for domestic rights. Directed by Tom Mattera and David Mazzoni (The 4th Dimension), the film also stars Tara Reid (American Reunion) and newcomer Joshua Ormond (Scout Masters). It debuted to a strong reception and awards on the festival circuit as well as high critical praise. Writer and producer Harrison Smith went on to write and produce the upcoming Corey Feldman horror Six Degrees of Hell.

Yesterday's episode of Glee, "Mash Off," was directed by Eric Stoltz. Fox has released a couple of new behind-the-scenes clips today (embedded & linked below).

Shoot Online reported earlier this week that Eric has joined the production and design studio The Department of The 4th Dimension full time and has at least one project in development.

Jls have added three more dates to their 2012 arena tour of the UK. The 4th Dimension tour kicks off in March, and despite already adding several extra dates earlier this month, the boyband have now announced three more performances after experiencing "phenomenal demand" for tickets. The new dates will see the 'She Makes Me Wanna' group travel to Manchester's Men Arena on April 20, followed by London's O2 Arena the following evening, and also Glasgow's Braehead Arena on April 24. It's been a while since we've had any sort of update on the Tara Reid/Cloris Leachman (now there's a dream team if we ever saw one) flick The Fields, but today the filmmakers announced the launch of a Street Team utilizing the film’s network of loyal Facebook fans to promote the film and raise awareness worldwide.

Basically, they're trying to get 100,000 people to "like" them on Facebook, and if you help them, you will get to watch exclusive behind-the-scenes videos, receive special video messages from the cast and crew, and if the goal is reached, you'll get an on-screen credit! Updated: Tara Reid Starring in The Fields

Thanks to our loyal reader Joey, who probably ought to go to work for the CIA he's so good at digging up clues, we got some more details on the previously "untitled horror pic" Variety reported that David Mazzoni and Tom Mattera are helming and Tara Reid will be starring in. Apparently it's called The Fields.

From the project's MySpace page: "The Fields is a psychological thriller based on true events that took place in a small Pennsylvania town in 1973. It tells the story of a young boy and his family who are terrorized by an unseen presence. The film is being produced by Faust Checho with Mr. Big Productions, in association with MazWa Productions. We're not too sure why Tara Reid has become the go-to girl for some fans who have hopelessly been petitioning to get her in A Nightmare on Elm Street . It's an odd phenomenon. Those Reid fans can take comfort in knowing she is doing a horror film called The Fields . According to Variety , she'll play a mother "whose family is terrorzed by an unseen presence" for directors Tom Mattera and David Mazzoni. The film's official MySpace page says it is based on a true story that took place in a small Pennsylvania town in 1973. Tommy Lee Wallace ( It , Halloween III ) is acting as associate producer. Shooting begins this September in Philadelphia. Mattera and Mazzoni previously collaborated on The 4th Dimension which hit DVD through Tla Releasing last year.
