In "Easy Bake Coven", the unnamed character portrayed by Edna Krabbapel has a red "A" upon her frock. This is a reference to the main character in the book, 'The Scarlet Letter'. In the book, the "A" stands for adultery, and the woman is made to wear it by the townspeople as punishment for committing this crime. The implication that Mrs. Krabbapel's character is likewise an adulteress fits with the series' numerous hints that Mrs.Krabbapel has had many lovers. See more
