The first animated appearance of Shuichi's sister Mariko Shindo, an important and popular character from the manga who did not make it into the previous television anime.

Goofs:

Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Shuichi's eye and hair colors are complete different from the anime and even in the manga. Where as, Shuichi truly has dyed pink hair and violet eyes, the OAV gave him red hair and green eyes as the same with Ryuichi Sakuma who also does not have red hair and green eyes in the anime or the manga.
