The Last Airbender
Opens: July 2nd 2010
Cast: Noah Ringer, Nicola Peltz, Jackson Rathbone, Dev Patel
Director: M. Night Shyamalan
Summary: A live-action film based on the Nickelodeon animated TV series. In a fantastic world where civilisation exists as four great empires, a reluctant young child sets out on a perilous journey to restore balance to a world torn apart by war.
Analysis: Its been quite the decade for M. Night Shyamalan who started it as a household name with labels of a moodern-day Hitchcock thanks to the likes of "The Sixth Sense" and "Signs". Today he's considered more of a one-trick pony and in some cases a punchline due to rampant stories of egomania run wild and a series of much derided onscreen flops like "Lady in the Water" and "The Happening".
Thus 'Airbender' marks a potential return to form for the helmer. An adaptation of the hit cartoon series

[Exclusive Interview] Columbus Short on Armored

When I hopped on the phone with Columbus Short I didn’t know what to expect. The only film I had seen him in was Cadillac Records — nothing else. So it was quite a nice surprise that the interview ended up going as well as it did. Columbus was extremely friendly and it became one of those interviews where it felt more so like a conversation. After being in a series of films as a side character, he’s finally now headlining his own film with Armored. While I haven’t got a chance to see it yet, I’m looking forward to it. Considering it’s from Nimrod Antal, the man behind Kontroll and the upcoming Predator remake, it will most likely be worthwhile. Armored is now in theaters.
Can you first talk about how you got involved? Did they chase you down for it or did you go after the role?

Armored Review

Short Version: The good news is: If you like to walk in, sit down and enjoy an action film, then Armored is for you. The bad news is: If you’ve seen the trailer, then you can walk in 45 minutes late and not miss a thing.
Screen Rant’s Paul Young reviews Armored
Every once in a while a movie comes out of nowhere that totally catches me by surprise. Black Dog, Hard Rain and Deep Rising are still three of my favorite mid-budget action flicks that got very little advertising or respect but managed to be very enjoyable in the theaters. All three also made into my DVD library – and now Armored will join them on my shelf.
There are some minor spoilers in the following review.
Nimrod Antal, the guy directing Predators, has done a very good job of making Armored fun and interesting without blowing it way over-the-top.

Columbus Short.s career has just started rapidly rising since his starring role in Stomp the Yard. Armored marks his first foray into the action genre.
Columbus Short is Armored
.I was looking for an action drama,. Short said. .I was looking for something that was high stakes and set in the realm in reality, not Justice League and not Passenger 57. I wanted something that was real, and it.s going to blow people away. There hasn.t been a movie like this in years, and it.s refreshing. It has that anxiety. It has that .Oh, my God!..
We saw Short on the set of Armored at Sony studios in Culver City. The armored truck was crashed on a soundstage.

tWitch’s Take on Sytycd: Ellenore & Jakob Left Me ‘Speechless’

What's up People! It's your boy, tWitch, sharing my thoughts once again from the set of Stomp The Yard 2 on the first night of performaces from So You Think You Can Dance's top 10. First and foremost, God bless all of the troops that are being and have been deployed/fighting/given their lives overseas. I have a brother (What’s up, Dre!) in the military, so this topic hits home a bit. My prayers and good energy go to them as well as their families.
All right, the show started with a lackluster hip-hop piece performed by Ryan and Noelle.

First Images From The Losers aka Zoe Saldana is a Gun-Packing Babe

Warner Bros. has released the first two official images from their upcoming adaptation of the Vertigo comic book “The Losers”. The film stars Zoe Saldana, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Chris Evans, Idris Elba, and Jason Patric, with everyone but Patric playing members of a CIA black ops unit that’s betrayed and left for dead, only to resurface with a vengeance. Patric, it appears, will play the scummy CIA guy behind the betrayal. And let’s face it, Jason Patric just has the face and the disposition for such a role. The film is due out in April 9, 2010 from Sylvain White, the guy who did “Stomp the Yard”. Yeah.
Official synopsis:
Action Thriller. An explosive tale of double cross and revenge, “The Losers” centers upon the members of an elite U.S. Special Forces unit sent into the Bolivian jungle on a search and destroy mission. The team-Clay, Jensen, Roque, Pooch

Warner Bros has released the first two official images from The Losers, an action movie based on a comic book series about a team of mercenaries out for revenge. Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Idris Elba, Zoe Saldana, and more star in the movie set for April 9, 2010.
They’re the obligatory “here’s who is in our movie” shots and a not-so-subtle American flag waving in the background. I’m not familiar with the comics yet, but the director (Sylvain White) doesn’t inspire confidence. His previous movies were Stomp the Yard and the direct-to-video I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer.
Here’s the official synopsis:
An explosive tale of double cross and revenge, “The Losers” centers upon the members of an elite U.S. Special Forces unit sent into the Bolivian jungle on a search and destroy mission. The team–Clay, Jensen, Roque, Pooch and Cougar–find themselves

Two photos from Warner Bros. comic book adaptation The Losers have made their way online.
The film’s log line is as follows:
After being betrayed and left for dead, members of a CIA black ops team root out those who targeted them for assassination.
Click the images to enlarge.
Whilst the comic itself is quite cool and the talented cast includes Jeffery Dean Morgan (Watchmen), Idris Elba (RocknRolla), Chris Evans (Sunshine), Zoe Saldana (Avatar), Jason Patric (The Lost Boys), and Ralph Macchio (The Karate Kid), I have been very skeptical about this project since Sylvain White took over directing duties.
If you are not familiar with White’s work, he is the man responsible for the atrocities known as Stomp the Yard and I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer. I will reserve judgement on The Losers until I actually watch the film, or at least a trailer,

Shakira gave a 'Stomp The Yard' routine at 2009 American Music Awards. Shakira started off her 2009 American Music Awards performance with a "Stomp The Yard" dance step, along with her dancers. Then, she sang her new song, "Give It Up To Me." She looked cute as ever, with a sort of new hair style.
They had what sounded like, girls rapping Lil Wayne's rap verse. Then she started singing some more and doing her weird gyrating dance. I don't really get it,but Shakira is so sexy, that it really doesn't matter. She can do whatever kind of weird dance she wants around me.

This is what we call a slow news day. Even for a Sunday. But then a casual glance through The Hollywood Reporter yielded some huge sequel news! The sequel to Stomp the Yard has begun shooting in Atlanta! Since I don't think I've ever seen the first Stomp the Yard, I'm going to assume it's the tragic story of an ill-fated cement technician who is killed while paving a new schoolyard, thereby prompting the local dance team to "stomp" that beloved yard and win the fancy cheerleading trophy.
And get a load of these funky names! "Collins Pennie ... Pooch Hall, Terrence J, Lil Duval, Tika Sumpter, Kiely Alexis Williams, Keith David, rapper David Banner and music artist Teyena Taylor join "So You Think You Can Dance" runner-up Stephen "tWitch" Boss in the cast." (I love that the rapper has the plainest moniker.) Rob Hardy will direct (he probably is at this very moment,

The Other Paul Anderson Now Directing 'Castlevania'?

It's a real shame that Castlevania has become such a troubled production. It's a cool enough video game
to make the transition to the big screen, but it could be on its third director in about 18 months.
At first, Sylvain White (Stomp the Yard) was attached to direct...and then the project kind of went away. Then earlier this year, original Saw director James Wan threw himself at the project with Paul W.S. Anderson producing. We wrote a little bit about that in July, with Wan saying, "I'll be working on the script with a writer to give it a new spin, different to the previous versions. This will have my stamp on it, which Konami is very excited about."
Or not. Shock Till You Drop quotes producer Jeremy Bolt as indicating that Anderson will be directing and he's waiting for yet another script. I wonder how much all this indecision has cost the producers.

Stomp the Yard 2: The Homecoming has begun shooting in Atlanta this week. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fame's own Collin Pennie has landed the lead role in the film.
Pennie will star as Chance Harris, an up and coming dancer who must juggle his ambitions to appear on a televised step competition with his school work, his job, and his quest for girls. This all leads to a very stressful homecoming weekend at Truth University. Also appearing in the sequel to the 2007 hit are Pooch Hall, Terrence J, Lil Duval, Tika Sumpter, Kiely Alexis Williams, Keith David, rapper David Banner, music artist Teyena Taylor, and Stephen "tWitch" Boss.
Albert Leon wrote the script, which will be directed by Rob Hardy. The film will find its way into theaters later next year.

Will Paul Ws Anderson Helm 'Castlevania'?

The Castlevania film, based upon the Konami game, seems to be going through a difficult birthing process. After an announced start date passed and original director Sylvain White (Stomp the Yard) moved on to other things, James Wan (Saw) signed on to co-write and direct the project, with Paul Ws Anderson producing. "I'm very fresh on this project, so its early stages and I'm still trying to work things out, but the producers love my vision for it," Wan told the media.
Then news about the project all but dried up. Until today. On the Toronto set of Resident Evil: Afterlife, producer Jeremy Bolt told Styd that Anderson is once again circling Castlevania and is currently waiting for the script.
No word, however, as to what role Anderson will play in the film: producer, director...or perhaps both.
Bolt added that Anderson is also looking to adapt Konami's 'Metal Gear Solid' for the big screen.

What up world! It's your boy tWitch taking some time off on the set of Stomp The Yard 2, to share my thoughts about last night's performance episode of Sytycd with the masses.
I am so happy to hear that Dizzy Feet is moving forward with such force! Sounds like a wonderful event on Nov. 29! Not only happening for a good cause, it's a wonderful night of dance. Quest, Alvin Ailey, Sytycd, Dancing with the Stars and America's Best Dance Crew all under one roof? Wow!
For this being the first "voter show," all of the performers were definitely connecting with each other and with us, the audience, whether in studio or at home.
In the first piece, there were tons of dope lift sequences. I agree with Adam Shankman when he said that he finally saw Kevin tonight. The couple worked so well together and both had great moments. Karen

Eminem's Follow-Up To '8 Mile' Is 3-D Horror Anthology 'Shady Talez'

In 2002, hip hop star Eminem impressed a helluva lot of people with his work in the sort-of-biographical drama, "8 Mile." He's been relatively quiet on the Hollywood front since then, other than a few publicity stunts. All that is about to change however, as Eminem is preparing to return to the silver screen.
Next up for Slim Shady is "Shady Talez," a 3-D horror anthology described as "'Twilight Zone' meets 'Creepshow'" by ScreenDaily, which broke the news. The project is a collaboration between "I, Robot" producer John Davis and writer/producer Dallas Jackson, under the D.J. Classicz/Davis Entertainment label. Jackson will co-write the story with "Underworld" creator Kevin Grevioux; the duo will also produce a four-issue comic book miniseries based on the movie under the Marvel Icons label, for a 2010 release.
ScreenDaily doesn't have many more details on "Shady Talez" to share beyond that. D.J. Classicz

What is up world? It's your friendly neighborhood tWitch here, about to share my thoughts on So You Think You Can Dance's performance episode. I am currently in Atlanta, filming Stomp The Yard 2, but I will still be making sure to check in on you.
I am very excited to see Jamal Sims on the show. I find it refreshing to see the different relationships choreographers see in a duet. The tennis match idea he used in the piece he choreographed for Russell and Noelle was amazing. Tennis is high energy and so was the piece!!! With that high energy, however, comes the challenge of pace and full extension of the moves and choreography. Trust me, I feel the difficulty being a guy that's 6' tall. But in that, you have to know exactly how much time you have to move and plan accordingly.
I loved the first wedding dance!
