The One was Excellent!
mreed217 May 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I've watched every episode of this show, it's absolutely awesome. And the season finale, The One, was just incredible. I was shocked, and very sad, at how this particular episode ended, I bawled like a baby. I thought the brother was safe when he showed up at the shop. But I soon realized it wasn't the brother that was dead! Oh my gosh, you can't get rid of Aisha Tyler! You have to figure out how to keep her. This particular episode left me sad, happy, excited, and depressed. I, too, didn't pick up on the hints that were given that Andrea had been killed. After thinking about who said what etc., as I sat in my chair crying, I realized you were giving hints soon after Andrea first returned to the shop after driving to her brothers apartment. The writers were excellent in giving the audience a TOTAL surprise ending. I can't wait for next year, and plan to watch ALL the reruns this summer.

🏆 BEST EPISODE OF THE ENTIRE SERIES
floridacalisurferboy29 November 2021
This Episode of GHOST WHISPERER is easily the Best Episode (not of the season) But of The Entire Series 🏆 It brilliantly joins Eerie Haunting Mystery with Raw Emotional Intensity... With many elements from the movie THE SIXTH SENSE and some powerful group death scenes, it combines the Best of Two Worlds of Death/Love (as the movie GHOST did) A MUST-SEE Episode of the series... Because it Never Got Better than This!

Season one finale

Warning: Spoilers
I found the first series excellent. A bit confronting at first as I have lost or two sons and both parents all died within 4 years of each other that left me somewhat jaded.

However, I love the cast, and Jennifer's costumes are stylish, and isn't she beautiful, so is David as her husband. Sorry to find Aisher's character killed off, but the final two episodes were stylish and extremely well done.

The man in the hat, he's a demon as he admitted bringing that plane down, and wants to keep spirits earth bound to help him make more mischief.

Can't wait to hire Season Two on DVD. Jennifer deserves an award, she is very believable and compassionate. Well done Touchstone.

shocking episode with the plane crash

Warning: Spoilers
I missed the episode before this but once i was caught up on all that was happening it was an amazing episode. best one yet no questions asked! the end was the biggest twist or all though. my family and i all thought it was over whenever all the souls walked into the light and the pigeon flew off the branch but then it went back to the antique shop. at first when Mitch came on and went to Melinda i though aw he is hugging her because she warned him and saved his life but then he stayed there and didn't even look at his sister so i got really confused! and then i started crying because i knew what was going on. After watching it a second time you really understand some clues. Like how whenever the guy came in to ask Melinda questions he ignored Andrea and then Andrea asked if the list of people has been given out yet and Melinda repeated it because the guy wouldn't have been able to hear Andrea and wow so many clues that I never picked up. It was so amazing but yet so sad:(

The One
MrBiddle13 May 2006
Warning: Spoilers
As in Neo? The Matrix? Nah, first of all the emotional intensity of this season finale is heavy. This is probably the episode where Melinda cries the most, or where YOU would cry the most.... I appreciated the fact that there was no redundance with the skeptic "I don't believe you" cliché that everyone realistically reacts with in this episode... Henry Czerny, the Authoritative guy and every one of the family victims - especially the husband and father of the young girl takes it in so easily. Oh yeah, the girl also tells Melinda that she is "The One." Whatever that means?? Will they expound it in the next season? Jennifer Love Hewitt and company do great... the ending is emotionally overwhelming, yes it's heartwarming when the souls cross over into the light and a few remaining stay with Wide-Brim Hat Man. But the most intimately emotional sequence happens in the end with Andrea, Melinda and Andrea's brother. "Love never dies." I guess that's true... The thing is, Wide-Brim Hat Man seems to get the last scene, there is lack of denouement in that issue... What about laughing man? Will these things be brought to closure in future episodes of Ghost Whisperer? And THE ONE. What does that imply? Will Melinda indeed pay for makign those souls cross over? I guess that is just to get us hooked for future plans of the series. This episode, helmed by Gray himself is one of my favorites along with GHOST IN THE CROSSING (a hilarious one, one of the season's earliest) and also MENDED HEARTS.

See this if you can.

Grade A.

surprising episode, best yet
manyglacer2 June 2006
Warning: Spoilers
This is a series which is growing more complex (and maybe a bit more dark) with each episode. Jennifer L. H. is so attractive it was easy to miss many clues as to what the real headline here was, which was a major change in the flow of the whole series. I have no idea where they are going with this, which is rare, as I am 50-something, grew up with TV, and almost always can guess "what next." But I hope "what next" doesn't change the basic chemistry, which has been far more believable than most TV series. Here the writers have written a total curve ball, and the only finale this year where I genuinely wonder where they are going. The only recent series as good as "Medium," and almost worthy of being classed with "CSI."

I watch the series for this one
commanderbunbun-337187 October 2023
As someone before me said this is the best episode of the entire series. The first time I saw it I thought it was decent. I enjoy the show because it's kind of mindless and you don't have to stare at it and think. It's light and fun but this episode will draw you in. The spoiler at the end will blow your mind. I try not to guess Mysteries because that's part of the fun, but the reveal got me and I consider myself a sophisticated viewer. It's definitely one of the best episodes of the entire season. Fun effects, fun ghosts, great plot. The previous episode is deleted and so make sure you don't miss it.

many spoilers

Warning: Spoilers
I have loved and re-watched every episode of Ghost Whisperer, but I am glad I knew the climax of this episode before reading previous reviews. I was totally shocked that I had not realized we were watching Andrea's ghost, even when her brother walked past her, seemingly ignoring his beloved sister. several reviews remarked as to this surprise element of the story. yes, we will sorely miss Ms. Tyler's character, but I applaud the writers/directors/actors, for giving us this bit of theater genius. how many times did Dondre Whitfield have to make that very close walk before someone shouted CUT. that scene alone deserved a special award, perhaps one created for an actor's skill in close calls.

Excellent Episode

Warning: Spoilers
I watched the series years ago, and am happy that POP is rerunning it.

This particular episode is so well done in so many ways, it ranks right up there with one of the best of the series. The writers are obviously playing with the audience to the very end, and do so in a most subtle way. The elimination of a major character has been dealt with in various ways on different series. In this case she is killed off. One suspects that Ms Tyler wanted out to pursue other projects. It was a great loss to the program.

RE: what happened to the spirit of the passengers?
ZaneLee8 December 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Q: Did Melinda help the passengers spirits cross over, from last season closing episode, to this new episode. what happened to the 200 or so dead from the last episode. I though there would have been more interaction between Melinda and them.

A: Yes, she did help most of the passengers to cross over, but around 4-5 followed the Wide-Brim Hat Man.

Q: I am confused Melinda help the spirits cross over or did the evil ghost take them? Did I miss something? Is Aisha going to be a regular as a ghost? I saw Melinda helping Aisha's character cross over, but I noticed that Aisha is listed in coming episodes? I love this show, I am waiting for the DVD release from last seasons. May be Aisha will become her new helper or guide? A: In the final episode of Season One, episode "The One", most of the passengers followed into the light and crossed over, but a few did follow the Wide-Brim Hat Man, so not all crossed over. As for Andrea, she didn't cross over in the final episode of season one, so.. the suspense is left for season two.

I'm currently living in Singapore and Season One just ended last night, so I'm still waiting for Season Two, that's why I can't tell you much. I'd probably buy the DVDs once they're out. ^_^
