In the Shenandoah National Park, while a ranger conducts a tour for a group of teenage kids, a boy finds a pair of military dogtags in a pile of bear scat; Gibbs and company investigate. The ranger finds what's left of the body of a Navy petty officer second-class, and the gang find evidence of a woman companion. Search parties seek the bear and the woman. Ducky says that the sailor died of a knife wound before the bear started eating the body. McGee finds a pattern in other deaths in previous years in the same park, and Abby produces the identity of the missing woman. The team pursue several leads, Ziva finds the woman alive, and Gibbs nails the killer. Written by DocRushing

Great episode
26 December 2015 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

What's good about this episode is that it keeps you in the dark for most of the episode about the back story of the victim. As usual in an NCIS episode I liked the way the ideas were connected together. Unfortunately the dialogue left much to be desired for a show about character interactions. That doesn't go without saying I did laugh a bit at some interactions. Fortunately the mystery is top notch. The team investigates the death of a petty officer who was mauled after his death to make it look like an accident. The presence of a bear lureing materiel is found on the victim and the fingerprints registered on the equipment used to spray this substance points to a certain someone. However it ends up that that someone is being framed. It's as complicated as it sounds and that's what makes it good. Unfortunately the end is not that well explained (culprit's motive) but what's good is that we do get to see a good action scene in the woods with Gibbs and a sniper rifle. Also it's set in the woods so that's awesome. Great episode.
