Farmed and Dangerous

Warning: Spoilers
A nice episode with a weird twist villain motive, but it worked. I forget if they even explained how they know Mr B, I certainly haven't seen him before.

Old MacDonald had a demon farmer

Warning: Spoilers
This is one of those average Scooby-doo episodes I haven't watched much recently. After seeing the Secret Six (half adorable and half annoying) with their mom Crissie and the owner Mr. B from Homeward Hound (dog show episode), I don't much like this episode of them even assist in solving the mystery and number tags on their collars is a key. The Demon Farmer is quite scary even got a scythe as a weapon even the backstory of Farmer Terwilliger is bit a hard to believe.

As for suspects in this episode, Mr B is obviously hiding something from the gang to find out and there's the Frida woman who's like Cruella de Vil. No matter how odd or serious only farmhand Jonas is, I doubt his involvement even when he said his tractor was stolen. I recall the very big moment when Mr. B (got caught in Fred's chicken wire trap) said he doesn't know anyone named Farmer P. Only for the identity is quite a slight twist of identity change (by means of glasses and moustache).

Creepiness on the farm
TheLittleSongbird23 December 2021
"Farmed and Dangerous" signals the second appearance of the Secret Six, after Season 2's "Homeward Hound". That episode was a case of loving the Secret Six but finding the episode itself uneven (neither loving or hating, more mildly liked). It is also the second Halloween themed-esque episode of the show, after Season 2's "A Scooby Doo Halloween" (a great episode). It's another one of those great on first watch episodes and struck me as one of the creepiest.

It still is a great episode and in many ways still very creepy, as far as Season 3 goes this is one of the best. It is a case too of having a great location and villain, and on top of that a strong mystery. Which some episodes with great locations and villains weren't so successful in. Not to mention the Secret Six almost stealing the show. Comparing "Farmed and Dangerous" to Secret Six's other appearances, there is a preference for "Gold Paw" but it is a good deal better than "Homeward Hound".

The animation is every bit as good as the animation in the other 'What's New Scooby Doo' Halloween episode "A Scooby Doo Halliween". The character design of the demon farmer really does unsettle. The music has its usual atmosphere and groove and the theme song is catchy. The voice acting is very good, especially from Casey Kasem and for the Demon Farmer.

Who is the stuff of nightmares as a villain, right from the opening and he continues to get creepier with each appearance. The perpetrator wasn't a surprise to me, one of those something about them seeming off. Even with the hardly small suspect count, where everyone is suspicious, though did like the twist on them. The setting adds a lot to the atmosphere, it would certainly make me scared about going there at night. It's not just non stop creepiness.

It is also very funny. Those popcorn flavours sound absolutely disgusting but are also very amusing. This is also the sort of episode that makes one want to eat popcorn while watching, though certainly of a more appealing flavour. It was great to see the Secret Six back and they are absolutely adorable while also adding a lot to the mystery solving.

Regarding "Farmed and Dangered's" mystery, it is spot on in atmosphere (darkly suspenseful and eerie) and is energetically paced and not over simple. Shaggy and Scooby are still in loveable goofball mode and the rest of the cast are fine.

Excellent episode overall. 9/10.
